My favorite part was the food, but the rest was good too. We ordered the papadams, which were deliciously crisp and had a good taste of caraway. The garlic naan had a healthy portion of garlic. One of our group ordered the samosas with chickpeas, and they come out with sauces and chickpeas. It was so good that I had to steal a few bites. Both of our other entrees were excellent. For what it’s worth, the price seemed very reasonable compared to similar Indian restaurants.
The atmosphere was quite nice. I liked how the tables had tablecloths with glass on top – made it feel classy and clean at the same time, and I didn’t have to worry about spilling curry on a tablecloth.
The service was good – very friendly.

I don’t even know where to start off, the food is crazy, if you’ve ever had any food that you just love eating and just love the flavor and texture and everything, that’s exactly what i always come across coming here, the atmosphere is great as well. Full of respectful people and especially the waitresses, they’re so kind and they use great vocabulary to express themselves, the gentleman there also has a great vibe and every time i go with my family, he never fails to comfort us and he previously gave my son free ice cream great food, great people, and great vibes! i’ve brought many friends and family here to this restaurant and i will continue to do so! best indian restaurant in GR

I had a great experience here. With the large amount of Indian restaurants in the local area, it can be hard to stand out, but this place managed to do it. The food was seasoned well and the service was excellent. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll be back!

First visit to an Indian restaurant and I am now a big fan of Indian food!
– Goat Masala: This was the star of today’s show. It was cooked in a spicy medium thick sauce and very tasty. This made the meat moist and delicious! It also comes with rice. I highly recommend it!
– Lamb Seekh Kabob: It is like sausage, but fresher, spiced differently, and has a dryer texture. It was served on a sizzler like cast iron platter with onions, green peppers, carrots, and a slice of lemon. It also came with white rice.
– Garlic Naan Bread: Soft with a garlic taste and a tiny hint of another seasoning I couldn’t recognize. Very soft and good with just about anything. Especially good for snacking while waiting.
– Indian Coffee: Friend had it and enjoyed it. Free refills.
– Service: The server’s attention was divided, but helpful. He was not fluent in English, but knew enough to explain things.
The majority of their business seemed to be DOORDASH, UberEats, and GRUBHUB. There were only four tables occupied of the 15 or so that were available, but there were constantly drivers showing up and picking up orders, dividing the server’s attention.
Don’t get me wrong. We were helped completely, but often with some waiting.
– Atmosphere: Definitely felt like we were in middle-class India. There were music videos of Indian pop music playing on two screens. The booths were comfy and the décor felt more like a home than a restaurant.
Visited on a Monday at 5:20-6:45 PM.

Pal’s Indian Cuisine is a decent place for a meal. In a couple of times there, they clearly rely more on take out than dine in, as we were the only table dining in and at least a dozen takeout orders, including one that must have been for a banquet. The service is slow. From the broad menu, the food we ordered was decent but not exceptional. Ice cubes in the lassi slowed consumption, maybe for the better. Menu not marked for any dietary restrictions or preferences. Decor uninspiring and music videos constantly playing were culturally interesting but too loud.

Good authentic Indian food with friendly staff. Note the middle spice level in their ordering system is about regular Tabasco hot sauce level (barely any heat) so order the higher end if you like spice.

Ok so a few months ago I had left a crummy review because I had ordered food and they forgot to include the rice and when I questioned them they acted like I was lying about it.
I decided to give them another chance because maybe someone was having a bad day or something.
Well was I ever glad I did.! They still have the best sage lamb in town along with the best homemade chutneys.
But the best part is their attitude has changed and they are so friendly now. It was so nice to be treated so nicely! Great Job Pals Indian cuisine! You’re back in my list favorite restaurants and in my opinion best Indian food in town!

I could eat here every day. The food is superb and I love that they come all on dishes that you can share. The bread, oh, I have no written words to describe how delicious it truly is. I was a bit bummed when I woke up and all I had seen was the tinfoil on the counter with no more bread. I guess I will have to go back so I can chow down on food I already know is great.

I’ve been a long time customer of Pals, about 8 years or so. It all started when a co-worker and I visited for lunch. It’s the best Indian food in Grand Rapids, period. I’ve tried other places and nothing compares. They are so kind, consistent, and the food is so delicious I crave it often. It’s what made me realize that Indian food was my favorite kind of food. Will be a forever fan of them and their beautiful family owned business. About to place a pickup order now!

This place has a very comfortable atmosphere. The naan is excellent—fresh and delicious. The masala tea is also very flavorful. My husband and I are grateful that they allowed us to order tea during their break; we didn’t realize they were on break, or we would have waited. They kindly let us sit and enjoy our tea. Please come and support them!
