This was my first time here and to be honest with you probably I won’t return. I feel bad about that because it’s only about five minutes from my house. Inside the restaurant there is limited seating and there is some outside tables. It was decorated pretty cute and they do provide menus in Spanish and English. My wife ordered a breakfast dish and I ordered the chicken enchiladas and the green sauce with black beans. My wife liked hers however I felt like mine fell short. It was filled with chicken breast, which was a good amount, but I felt like the chicken was bland, and the green sauce was tangy. It’s not something that I would ever order again. You had a choice of rice or beans and I chose the beans. However, they brought it to me and it was like a bean soup and it was cold. It’s not advertised as a soup. It’s advertised as black beans and why it was puréed. I have no idea. And I also didn’t see where it said served cold. Maybe if I chose something else I would be happy, but it really wasn’t something that I would give a second chance to.

Great spot for Latin/Mexican comfort food. The flavors were simple but delicious, and everything we ordered tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The coffee was surprisingly good, and the pastries were a nice bonus — definitely worth trying. The only downside was the service pace; it took a while for the tables to be cleaned and for the food to come out, likely because they seemed short-staffed. Still, the friendly vibe and tasty food made it a positive experience overall. I’d go back, especially when I’m not in a rush.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Palo Santo Cafe in Riverbank, California, and the experience was absolutely amazing!
The food was a true revelation. I can confidently say I have never had better Mole Sauce anywhere—the owner shared that it’s made with 40 different spices, and you can taste the complexity and passion in every bite.
Exceptional Service and Personal Touch
What truly set this visit apart was the service. The owner personally came out to serve and speak with us, sharing wonderful details about their kitchen. She described how her husband had just made the very first batch of gelato and even walked us through the intricate process they use to create both the famous mole and the delicious cheesecake. I have never been treated so great by any other host or owner—it felt incredibly welcoming and special.
Beyond the main meal, the dessert selection was equally impressive. I absolutely love the gelato, and the variety offered was fantastic. But the showstopper was the cheesecake; it was so incredible that I just had to take two slices home!
If you’re in the area, Palo Santo Cafe is a must-visit for top-notch food, phenomenal desserts, and truly heartfelt, personal service. Highly, highly recommend!

I had ordered a dish that a person after me also ordered. When the waitress served them first then the rest of my family’s food came out and she served our table, I was the only one not eating. When I brought it to my attention she was cold and said,”we have another coming out.” Not even an apology or understanding that she made the mistake.
Food was great, atmosphere wonderful, attitudes from some of the staff, genuinely rude.

I came here to order two raspberry cheesecakes, they didn’t have any ; they only have lime and strawberry, which is OK that’s what I ended up getting one lime and one strawberry I also order one elote pie to go when I left when I left I tried to eat my pie only to find out that it was no pie on my bag so I came back. I told them that they forgot to include the pie. The lady was not nice. She took forever to give me the pie. She just threw it on me with no bag. I also asked for three spoons. She only gave me two, so do I suppose to share my spoon with my coworkers? anyways I left the pie has a good flavor the cheesecake too, but I hate the service that I got. I only had 30 min lunch and I took me 45 min to get my order

Found this spot on Google because I wanted coffee. Figured I would grab a bite to eat while there since I could see a baked good windows prep.

Walking in, it’s an adorable spot, but I didn’t know it was a mini restaurant. Being that the name was Cafe, I assumed coffee and small edible items. While I stood under one sign (order here), I wasn’t seen or addressed by staff.

I looked up and saw another “order here” sign and moved under that one. Within a moment or two, I was finally asked what I would like to order. They were pleasant and friendly.
*although the coffee I ordered was not what I expected. (It was a mini cup – I’m assuming it was due to the “name of the drink”). Yes, I asked what the coffee was “Cortado”, not knowing it was a mini drink. They told me the ingredients, but, no warning on the size of the drink. I will say, it tasted good. Just wished for a regular cup.

Being that this was my 1st time at the establishment, I was not aware about the other “items” you could get and not until I got my baked goods, were the menus placed on the counter. Bummer, cause I would have ordered something different.

So, altogether the place was quaint and adorable, for 1st timers, not familiar with their menus, (and no signs present when you look up – the monitors only show the coffee and drinks), it might be better for staff to inform guests of full available menu.

Celebrated my Bestie and my birthday together. The food was one of the freshest I have experienced. To say we were FULLY invested while scarfing down their tostadas and cilantro salad (also… a mocha and vanilla latte) is an absolute understatement!

Service is super slow. Limited seating. Food came out in multiple trips, including coffee and pastries. servers had to be reminded a couple times to bring our missing items. Food was cold! Enchiladas verdes were ok, but we only got 3 and they don’t come with any sides. For the price we were expecting more food. chilaquiles were OK in terms of flavor, but were dry (not enough sauce)and some chips were stale. I had take some of the enchilada sauce to coat the stale chips. Molletes are not traditionally made. they were made with sliced bread not bolillo/telera as they should be, so bread got super soggy and chewy. chocolate muffin was not good either. it tasted as if it was sugar free/vegan or something. Weird flavor, hard to explain. My son ordered a chocolate chip cookie. It was individually wrapped in plastic, which tells me it’s not fresh. the only thing we enjoyed was the cafe cubano and the raspberry cheesecake.

It was our first time coming here. The breakfast chorizo plate we got was really good and so was the coffee. The workers were also really nice.
