I had the Parmesan fries also. The thousand island sauce is pretty tasty but again, a hair too sweet. They were generous with the Parmesan cheese and blanketed the entire tray but Parmesan isn’t really the best choice for an animal style fry.. it doesn’t melt at all and doesn’t jive in flavor as well as something like American. The fries themselves were tasty. A bit like an elevated McDonald’s, which is compliment. They were very good.
Unfortunately I found the burger to be too unmemorable to desire trying again. There’s a million burger joints popping up every day and some are properly special, so it takes a lot more than I felt the flavors here offered to truly stand out. It’s fine though, you might love it. It’s worth a try. For me, it was average 7/10
I can honestly say this is one of the best smashburgers I have had, better than most places in NYC and LA.
However, I am so disappointed in how horrible the fries were. I got the Parmesan fries and as you can tell from my photo they were soggy and disgusting. 0/10.
I easily would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for how the fries ruined my meal, which was not cheap at $22.
The only reason why we heard good things about it…plus they had a 50% off deal in the afternoon and took a chance on this new spot!
The wait was extremely long and took over 45 minutes for our order to be served.
I would not visit here if you’re in a rush or wanting a quick lunch meal!
Overall, the food was good, the fries were yummy, the wait, was disappointing.
The grilled smash was delicious and greasy!
They were out of their house made lemonade, though.
The ambiance is very strange as it has four different restaurant stalls that share a space.
The bathrooms are outside and through a exterior hallway.
There isn’t any visible signage on the exterior of their space so look for the graphics on the window. It’s next to KATSU BAR.
It is located in San Monica. Stone throw from Brentwood neighborhood.
They are fairly new. Opened since about 6 month ago.
The fries are cooked in beef tallow. You can really taste the difference.
The smash burger was quite impressive as well.
They initially made a mistake on my order but quickly corrected it.
People commented on a long wait. There was no line on a Saturday afternoon when I went. I do agree the service time can still be a little slow.
Btw there is a parking lot at the back with lots of spots. Best of all, it’s free.
We’ve been here multiple times, and once before the fries were burnt but we let it slide. This time, they came out burnt again; we asked for a redo and the second batch was still burnt. When we pointed it out, the staffer said “this is your last time.”
When we asked his name to follow up, he refused, gave a fake one, and threatened to call the police if we asked again. Meanwhile, the other employees just laughed.
We know what the fries normally look like here, so this wasn’t a one-off mistake. Poor food and unprofessional, hostile service — we won’t be back.
At first I thought it was a ghost kitchen, but it’s a fairly small storefront space with limited seating that’s shared by a couple of other quick bite spots. The staff was really nice, and I’m definitely going back!
