Two years after my first visit – for a tasty weekend brunch – I returned to Palmeira for lunch on a chilly November weekday. Quiet at first, business picked up and the warmth of the staff and kitchen made for another excellent dining experience. Since it was cold out, I felt like soup. I couldn’t decide between chicken tortilla soup or the green pozlillo (pork posole), so I had a cup of each and they were delicious and hearty. The Palmeira smoothie with coconut milk, coconut water, mango, pineapple, and passion fruit was as good as I remembered it. All in all, the colorful decor, friendly vibes, and great tropical fusion Latin food make Palmeira one of my Top 5 favorite restaurants in Anchorage. I was told that business had been slower than usual because of the tough economy, so Anchoriginals please show Palmeira the love it deserves!

Palmeria Trpical Fusion truly fits their name! A hidden gem tucked away in the outskirts of downtown Anchorage. Thier attention to fresh ingredients and detail is what we love about their food. The service is top-notch and so friendly. We had nothing but positive experiences here. It’s one of our favorite places in town

The first thing I would like to highlight is the excellent service provided by the staff and the pleasant atmosphere of the place. The tortilla soup was delicious, one of the best I’ve had, and the tropical ceviche was exquisite as well. Overall, it’s a place that leaves you wanting to come back.

The seating is very close-quarters. We were seated in the corner where the seating is built into the wall. This seating is very awkward because instead of facing each other my husband and I were facing two adjacent tables which made us feel like we were intruding on those tables a bit.
The food was pretty good, I enjoyed their flavor pairings and I think they have some fun options.
Folks with allergies and intolerances should be aware that not all primary ingredients in a dish are listed on the menu description. I ordered the crunchy wrap without the listed pickled onion because I cannot eat onion, however, much to my sadness when I started to eat I discovered that the inside of the wrap was filled with onion, so much so that I couldn’t effectively remove the onion to avoid getting sick. This is my fault for not asking the server about any undisclosed onions however it is much appreciated when menus are up front with the primary contents of a dish. The creamy sauce it came with was tasty though and I liked the radish garnish too.

First time coming! I went today with my mother when I walked in. It. Smelled good and it looked clean upon looking at the ceiling. They have some type of bamboo string with plants. Hanging from the ceiling we sat down and the seating area is very enclosed. The seating up against the wall has a concrete stone seat. It looks like a bench. It was my first time ordering here, and I had a hard time Trying to understand the title / verbage of food and the menu due to the owners coming from Guadalajara Mexico. Met one of the owners and he was nice. I ordered “the green and chicken chilaquiles” item was $19 and $4 extra for 2 sunny side up eggs. The presentation of the food is nice. Food was bland and it tasted like “regular nachos”. My mom enjoyed her food. They do charge a 3% fee with a 0.69 fee for card purchases.

The food was very good and we were likely the only tourists in there. So we got the table by the window which got hot fast. Also no prompt service. Pretty crowded at 3 pm on a Sunday. I had the clam chowder and salad with shrimp. SO had the crunchy wrap, and friend had the seafood tostada. All the food was good.

The Food, Service and Atmosphere was amazing! I felt like I was on a vacation resort dining place. The Pork Enchiladas were fantastic, even better than my mom’s cooking. You must try Birria Tacos!! Plus the Palmira Smoothie was fabulously refreshing. We ordered more food to-go because it was all spectacularly delicious. Our waiter kept checking on us, demonstrating great service to our table. The music was a vibe and dessert sealed the deal. I need to come back to this and I am recommending this restaurant to everyone I know.

This experience is by far one of the most incredible I’ve had in Anchorage! ✨ Who would’ve thought you could find such a vibrant tropical vibe right here in Alaska? But guess what — YOU CAN, and it’s absolutely magical. From the moment you step in, you’re transported straight to a sunny paradise. ☀️
Now let’s talk about the choriqueso torta — OH. MY. WOW. Every bite is a mini-vacation for your taste buds.
If you’re craving flavor, fun, and a splash of sunshine in the Last Frontier — this spot delivers. 1000% recommend for foodies, adventurers, and anyone who just wants to feel a little closer to the equator.
