I’ve had food catered to my house and church events from this place ever since they opened. They’ve never failed me as their Kerala food authenticity is very high. We even go there, grab a curry, or thoran, on a given day my wife was unable to cook . However, having a ‘dine in’ there was not on my bucket list. The ambience is not like that of a regular restaurant. So many people lining up to pick up food and eating in a crowded area is not my cup of tea. However, even though the ambience remains the same, the food ‘outsmarted’ my other pet peeves. We had a vegetarian meal and a non- vegetarian meal along with a special Mackerel fry and Indian tea. All together, $40.00 for Sunday brunch for two people. This is typical ‘Kerala’ food. And we enjoyed it…

I really enjoy Palm India for its authentic Kerala flavors here in DFW. The food is flavorful and truly reminds you of home cooking — the porotta with beef roast is one of my favorites, and the biryani is always fragrant and filling.
What makes this place even more special is that they serve the traditional Onam Sadya meal for 3 days every year. Getting a full banana leaf meal with all the classics like avial, olan, sambar, pachadi, thoran, pappadam, chips, and payasam outside India is such a treat and makes the festival feel complete.
The restaurant itself is simple and casual, nothing too fancy, but the food speaks for itself. Service can sometimes be a bit slow, but the staff is always polite and the portions are generous.
If you’re looking for real Kerala-style cooking in Dallas, Palm India is definitely worth a visit.

Owner is super rude , with no respect for the customer. He is also evading taxes by keeping less price if you pay by cash. Their food is also stale. Images attached. Display price is lower from the price in the system. And when we asked why is he charging extra he said it’s service charge…as we were paying by credit card And to top it…he also added taxes to that. And if we pay cash then we dont have to pay service charge and taxes. Please beware…

Owner was very arrogant and rude. He was trying to charge higher price than the displayed price, which is illegal as the law of land. When me and wife asked about that, he could have just discounted atleast to avoid bad customer experience. Rather than solving the issue, restaurant owner escalated the issue and behaved very rudely to me and wife.
This should be reported regarding bad behavior and illegal cash dealings to save taxes to the concerned department. He asked me to report as he doesn’t care. How rude he is.
I wont recommend this restaurant to anyone and they lost two customers as well.

This is my first visit to this location. I tried the porotta beef roast and Thalasseri chicken biriyani. Okay, food. Nothing exceptional. None of the items had a traditional Kerala flavor. The beef roast had a sweeter taste.
Sukhiyan and meduvada were both fresh and tasty.
Update – Sept 2025: I was so excited to order the Onam sadhya kit, but it was a complete letdown. The food was not only incredibly disappointing but also absolutely tasteless. What a waste of money and a terrible way to celebrate the festival. This was by far the worst sadhya I have ever had. Do not order this. You’d be better off eating plain rice.

I’ve been a regular here every weekend and have always enjoyed the food and service. Recently, they introduced a 4% service fee on to-go orders, which I find a bit surprising since the orders are already packed and ready to go. While I understand costs may rise, it does feel unusual to pay extra for a service you’re not really receiving. Hoping they reconsider this for takeout customers

This place does not allow you to order individual Porottas as extras or sides after you place your order, especially if you’re buying them for your children. My 2 kids do not like curries in general but they do like Porotta from Kerala restaurants. On our last visit, my wife and I ordered 2 separate south Indian thali meals offered on Sunday, 16 dollars approx each, and wanted to order 3 porottas on the side. The waiter lady refused, said porottas can only be ordered if you get a minimum curry with it, no individual purchases allowed. What kind of restaurant imposes a rule for “no side dish” purchase? If you’re concerned about people coming in and only ordering “porottas”, then have a minimum Order $ amount rule, rather than restricting items to purchase. I ended up buying a Stew to get the “porottas”, and ended up being fully wasteful, because who eats stew with Thali meals? The owners seem to be greedy, rather than accommodating. Also, the restaurant workers do not seem friendly at all, they got this take it or leave it attitude. I get better service from BayLeaf and Sabus, and that’s really a low bar if you know what I’m talking about. Curry leaf in mesquite is by far the best service in in DFW area and good Quality food, so I won’t be coming back to Palm and will also let enough ppl know about my experience.

• The Thalassery biriyani, however, was just average. The rice was well-cooked, but the meat was dry, which took away from the dish. On the plus side, they served pappadam, achar, and raita with the biriyani, which was a nice touch.
Service and Ambiance:
• Customer service was disappointing. They didn’t provide water at the table, and we had to order the food at the counter.
• Nearby tables were dirty, which detracted from the dining experience.
• The use of plastic plates was another downside, especially considering the price point.
Pricing:
For a restaurant that seems more catering-focused, they are charging the same as regular dine-in establishments, but without providing equivalent service or ambiance. Quantity was less compared to all similar restaurants.
Final Thoughts:
While the beef roast and porotta are worth trying, the poor service and lack of cleanliness are major drawbacks. There’s potential here, but improvements in customer service and overall presentation are necessary to justify the pricing.

The music and food fit the place well, but it’s not really a professional dine-in setup — there are sheets and house curtains used as door dividers. The food was good though, and you definitely get your money’s worth. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the spot feels more like it’s made for takeout than for eating in.
