Beautiful Petoskey spot for dining in or outdoor dining. We had a table on the second floor with a great view of the Bay. We shared a caprese appetizer and two entrees – mahi tacos and vegetable paella. Everything was delicious (including the French 75 at Happy Hour). Wonderful service added to the experience.

Worth the drive… Outstanding food, atmosphere, and service. This little hideaway is reminiscent of any fine food purveyor in Carmel, CA: they know what they’re doing. Highly recommend: Farmers Pasta, Quiche of the Day, for Lunch & finish off with their Baked Pudding with ice cream & butterscotch (if an option when you go)

We were able to walk righting to what was considered dining with a water view. Portions are on the smaller side. Seasoned and cooked well the plates were dressed very nice.

We went for brunch. There were five us us. We were seated promptly, drink orders went smoothly. Cocktails and orange juice were great. When it came time to order, I asked if I could get the eggs Benedict with fried egg, instead of poached (I don’t do runny yolks). The waitress told me no, they couldn’t do that. That’s how I order it at all of the other local restaurants, with no issues. So, I ordered the frittata. It was burned, as you can see in the photo. My friend ordered the sweet potato hash. It was basically a bowl of $15 broccoli soup, with sweet potatoes and peas. It was delicious. But, the menu clearly states that it comes with pork, fried egg and sour cream. We asked our waitress and she said it’s all ground up in the soup. Why have the menu state a “fried egg” or “pork”? We were very confused. Maybe it’s should say “pork, egg and sour cream broth”’. Our waitress left us perplexed multiple times during our visit. Maybe she was having an off day. As always, the view is great and we try Palette every now and again. Probably won’t do brunch again. The happy hour is our favorite. Forest floor soup and baked feta are always amazing.

We had forest floor soup, duck breast, beef tenderloin, seafood paella, scallop, and braised short rib. The food portion was on the small side for the price. The service was a little slow as we waited 30 min for the food. And the waitress did not check-in on us very much.
The food taste overall deserves the price. The rib, tenderloin, and scallop were perfect and spot-on. Maybe our own preference but the soup could go a little easier on the cream and the paella could do with less spice.
The big problem was the duck beast. The dish appeared to be prepared in a haste as the plate and risotto was stained with duck blood. The duck breast tasted very gamy even for me who liked wild games like elk goat goose etc. The red wine sauce was not fully reduced and was kinda choked on the alcohol smell. But the worst came next morning. We were four ppl: three of us who finished the duck started to have diarrhea, while the other friend who only had a bite was fine. Not saying it must be the duck but this whole dish doesn’t feel right.

The atmosphere was very good. My parents come here very often and enjoy it. I came here this evening with them to have dinner. I ordered a salad for dinner with a medium well steak on the side and received a steak that was not cooked as such, which I understand sometimes stuff gets messed up! But I asked to have it sent back to cooked again because it was rare, it came back 10 minutes later on the same plate and the meat was absolutely untouched. I paid for a steak that was never cooked to my liking after a simple request. Very Disappointed in my food and the service that followed with my request to have it changed. The waiter was very kind, and my father enjoyed his meal very much on the other hand.

Living in Petoskey for several months for work I ate at most of the places in town. This was one of my top places to go and eat. Myself and my coworkers stopped several times and we were never disappointed. They had a seasonal menu that had pork belly and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant. Their Crème Brûlée is top notch, and even though I found I don’t like mussels, the sauce they came in was delicious. Though it is on the pricier side the flavor from apps, to entrees, to dessert are well worth it.

Just okay food. Small plates are super small. Another diner at my table was suggested the pork chop. It was a mixture of varying flavors that did not go together. Very unappealing looking and tasting. Caesar salad had so little dressing on it that there was NO flavor.
Scallops (2 on the small plate) were okay, but the sauce was odd. Margarita pizza had no spice to it. It was a light sauce that sogged the crust. No basil or any other spices and a few mozzarella balls on top. We still had a great time and the server was good. Unless you find a favorite item on the menu, this most likely will not meet your expectations if you are accustomed to fine food.
