Im pregnant, woke up craving elotes and quesabirria tacos. I usually go to Taco Rico but unfortunately they were opening late so we decided to try this place. Please explain to me how this is acceptable? Thats inedible and truly a joke compared to all the other Mexican places that sell elotes in the area. Not only was the elotes disgusting, the shells that were used for the quesabirria was very stale and just unappetizing. I will not be back. I encourage everyone to drive the extra 2.5 miles to Taco Rico. Their food is consistent, delicious and they are very polite

So my daughter wanted to try this place out. The kids all have their love of Mexican food from their mother.

This is a small quiet Mexican restaurant with an ice cream parlor! The food is truly authentic Mexican and delicious!! Everything is fresh and tastes it!

The atmosphere is bright and cheery with Mexican music playing overhead.

The staff is quite friendly and helpful which tops it all off!!

I really loved this place and as soon as I tasted the food, I knew it was hidden gem quality. The atmosphere was bright but quiet and laid back, there wasn’t anyone there when we arrived. We ate inside and had steak tacos, a BLT, grilled chicken sandwich, juice and a triple berry smoothie. The smoothie was fresh and delicious, it wasn’t as sweet as some of the other smoothie places which just spoke to how fresh all the ingredients were. The chicken was perfect and the fries were crisp and delicious. 100% will be back soon to try some of the fruit cups and get more immaculate juice drinks.

We’ve been looking for a good little Mexican restaurant in the Northland and while there are a few good ones this one is now our favorite. The food is delicious the amounts are amazing and overall I’m gonna give it a five star.

I love this place! We usually come here for a quick snack like my favorite the escamocha! But we’ve been trying the food and it’s delicious! First time trying gorditas and empanadas and both were super delicious and crispy even through delivery!! I’d say the agua Fresca is the weakest point here. The strawberry one is delicious but the mango and horchata could use a little improvement! I love this place and the restaurant is always clean!

Locally owned, authentic, and affordable Mexican restaurant tucked away in the South facing strip mall on the West side of 69th and North Oak Trafficway (by the stoplight).
Large selection of traditional Mexican dishes, snacks, tons of colorful frozen treats and some really interesting apps/ snacks that I can’t wait to try.
The interior is bright and colorful and immaculately clean with lots of space between tables. There’s even a really cute giant butterfly drawn on the wall that you can take selfies in front of!
The menu is easy to read and expansive.
We ordered multiple dishes to sample for carryout. Full disclosure, I have zero tolerance for spicy foods – so be forewarned that if you feel the same, the green salsa and the empanadas were both too spicy for my taste, but others in the family thought they were perfect!
The tacos were extremely crunchy without being greasy, the flautas were crispy, and the quesadilla was to die for.
I have never figured out how to eat a tostada without dumping all the toppings onto the floor, but this tostada gives me a reason to keep trying.
All of this came to a total of $46, which is more than affordable, and you can definitely feed quite a few people for less.
So excited to have a new favorite place! We will definitely be back!

I loved it! A coworker recommend it and there is no regrets. I asked for guacamole and they made it from scratch right there! I was very impressed. Next time I will try the desserts because we were so full that there was no more belly space left. My pregnant wife was very happy and ate really well too. In terms of decor, the place could use more decorative elements to make it more welcoming and fun. I am a guy all I care honestly is the quality and quantity of the food but I know is more significant for the ladies (my wife). That picture was my wife’s plate I order something else but we had a really good experience overall.

I was going to order through Door Dash, but I decided to drive to the location and dine-in. I’m glad that I did. I love the look and feel of the restaurant, plus the staff were very nice. I ordered 2 crunchy tacos. My boyfriend ordered the La Monarca Burger(Angus beef patty layered with grilled onions, bacon, ham, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado and mayo). I’m not a big burger fan, but I took a bite of his burger and it was delicious ❤️
My tacos were tasty and filling as well. I love supporting local small businesses, so I will definitely be returning soon.

Update: I went back the next day for a couple of treats. I got the churro cheesecake which was yummy. It was nice & light, plus it wasn’t overly sweet. I also had a small cup of Elotes without chili powder. It was delightful as well. La Monarca is a great addition to the Northland.

Another update(Lol!)
I keep going back to try new dishes. So far, I’ve been pleased with everything I’ve tried. Since my last update I’ve bought the La Monarca breakfast special, beef empanadas, the Texano burrito and a few smooties. The smoothies are pricey, but they are definitely worth it.

Really, really nice ladies that work here. They made a mistake on ringing something up for me, and fixed it quickly and apologized. I appreciate that.
We ordered a lot of things to try. The steak tacos and crunchy tacos were delicious. The empanada was good, but felt like it was missing something. The corn in a cup was so tasty, but just know it has a lot of butter! I wanted the elote, but they didn’t have any more cobs. Definitely try the caramel ice cream, it is sooo good.
