I don’t really eat out for Mexican food but this place was amazing I loved everything I had and I had a lot. This place is super underrated and needs to be on the map as a Top food choice. I will definitely put them on my show that will be out soon displays restaurants that don’t get much publicity.

We stopped by Paleteria El Chavo late at night for some ice cream, and it was a great experience overall. The ice cream was delicious, and the mango smoothie we ordered was super refreshing with a really authentic mango flavor—definitely a highlight!
We also tried the churros, and while they tasted really good, there was a small mix-up with the order. We had asked for the cream-filled churros, but were only given regular ones with strawberry and chocolate drizzle. That said, the staff was friendly and helpful, and they even gave our kids free samples to help them choose what they wanted, which was a really thoughtful touch.
Even though we came close to closing time, they never rushed us and made sure we were taken care of. It’s the kind of spot where you feel welcome, even late at night.
If you’re ever in the area and craving a sweet treat, Paleteria El Chavo is definitely worth checking out!

Honestly, unfortunately will never be back fifteen minutes to cook a quesadilla with no one in the restaurant. Wanted chicken, apparently, that was not understandable , and I got quote unquote.Steak. honestly, for the price, everything should have been good. Second time here and it has been a ridiculous. Wait timeEach time it doesn’t seem to matter if they’re busy or not. Your guys place is very, very clean and I would eat there if I did not have a job and didn’t need to get back to work after eating. Also, my quesadilla chase it like it came from Taco Bell. It was not good at all. Really sucks, since there’s not that much in Grand View. But you would figure, since you have a lot of competition from the hispanic community you would have good food.

The only reason I give 4 stars and not 5 is because there is sometimes a language barrier also they now charge for extra sauce. The sauce comes in a tiny cup and everyone I’ve taken there says the same thing. That they never get enough. I’ve switched to not using their sauce at all and instead using Herdez salsa verde. I also stopped doing delivery because the last 3 times they put no sauce at all in the bag as well as added onion when I selected remove. The food itself is delicious. Just be patient when ordering and have a translator app on your phone if needed. Personally I’ve took to start trying to learn Spanish for myself and to hopefully be more welcoming to others. Fyi their ice cream is crazy good.
Side note – the music is “sometimes” way too loud. Like can’t hear yourself type of loud.

Ordered taco combo. Pastor was ok I guess. Only compliment I can give.
Ordered no onions and it came with onions. The beans are worse than any I have ever had out of a can. And the rice tastes like it was cooked in a dirty sock. Quite possibly the worst Mexican food I have had in 40 years of life. This is not an overstatement or exaggeration.

Paleteria El Chavo is like a trip to a colorful culture! The endless food options, from lunch and dinner to late-night snacks and sweet treats, make it a go-to spot any time of day. The dining area is beautifully decorated, the staff is super friendly, and the food is always delicious. A fantastic experience all around!

Run!! . Best quesobarria tacos I’ve had since I’ve been in KC for 4 years now. It actually has flavor& was very crispy ! Eat it in the restaurant so you get 100% of the fresh experience!! Drinks was fresh and great. The pina drink was top tier ! Waited no more than 15 mins on our food. Staff was friendly and patient ! We Will be back!
Side note : if you’re getting a drink get a large Z smalls are a waste of money. Trust me.

The food and cakes are awful. It takes forever to get served just to get low quality food. We swore to only get desserts after how terrible the food was just to get disappointed by how terrible the tres leches is in both taste and texture. Only things we haven’t tried yet are the drinks and ice cream which aren’t worth wasting our time there a third time.
