It began in 2005 in Laredo, Texas, after Don Pancho’s long journey in the restaurant business. In 1975, he started with El Pollo Loco® in his hometown of Guasave, Mexico. We arrived on this location by a recommendation of a local so we knew we were going to get great food! And that it was. Our order: Al Pastor tacos, Carne Asada tacos and tres leches cake. It was so very filling and the flavors were great.
Service to start off was a big rough but shaped up about halfway through. Not sure if the server who had our table wasn’t available or what happened exactly but other tables seated after us received drinks and appetizers before anyone acknowledged our presence.
I also had a chamoy margarita that was very delicious!

I’m so amazed by how delicious the food is, además what a great service!! The food is nicely presented, the botanas are all good especially the refried beans , y para terminar.. we were offered with to go containers, plastic bags and paper bag!!

Nice place to eat and great food but the service is the worst ever on my last 2 visits even on a table of 2 or a table 8 even worst because the gratuity expected our drink orders were messed up first and no one coming to the table if we need something or any refills whatsoever. I had to start drinking water with my food from a personal bottle because no one would come to our table. I’m sorry but I’ve had better experiences at Republica Cantina de Mexico for my birthday or even Otilias for lunch or brunch sorry even Taco Palenque even for less. Sorry but the price includes bad service not an exceptional one.

I mainly stopped because of the proximity to the loop and the large parking lot( I had a trailer). Growing up in South Texas I was expecting your typical run-of-the-mill Mexican food restaurant. I was so WRONG! As soon, as I walked in I knew this was not your typical Mexican food restaurant, from the atmosphere to the decor it felt much more like a fine dining experience. The service was wonderful, staff super friendly!

We went on a Friday night and there were a lot of big groups dining (probably due to the holidays). We ordered the panchos as an appetizer and the rib-eye meal. The panchos were tasty and it was a big portion enough to share with others. The rib-eye had good seasoning but could’ve used for flavor. We gave it a 4 star rating because all of the items were too pricey. You can go to Taco Palenque and the panchos are way less than here. We ordered a cucumber jalapeno margarita and it was awesome! The service was amazing. Marisela was attentive and made sure that we were doing well. The noise level was a little loud— I guess because of the large groups.

Wow.. a must try when in Laredo. The El Pasco was tender and full of flavor! The pineapple gave a sweet sour flavor to the meal. By far one of the best Strawberry Margaritas that we have had!! The Chumoy Margarita was fantastic. Alejandra our waitress was top notch.

I’d give 10 stars if I could. This was the best dining experience either of us had ever had! Upon entering, our soon to be waiter stood up and asked us how many, then gave us a few tables to choose from. He was very attentive, guided us on menu selection, and kept the drinks topped off.
