We were sat, ignored, finally offered drinks, then told to help ourselves to refills. Thank goodness for that, because the waitress couldn’t be located other than to drop food on our table and run away.
She said they were busy. I waited tables for 20 years and I counted 3 people on that floor. Plus, when you have the guests serving their own drinks, that should free up the waitress to provide actual service.
Let’s bypass anything that may simply be a matter of personal standards. Let’s talk undeniable Italian food.
My husband and I ordered seafood pomodoro. It was advertised as lobster and shrimp with sauce.
First, that’s not lobster. That’s crab-body meat and anyone who has ever had both knows the difference.
Second, the entire dish tasted like oily, bland apathy. Nobody, from the cook to the waitress to the manager had one shred of dignity left in their establishment, which was evidenced by their willingness to serve this abomination without batting an eye.
Save your money, go elsewhere.
The restrooms were clean. So, it wasn’t all bad.
Paladino’s is tucked away in the heart of Apache Junction serving up some amazing Chicago style Italian eats. From pasta to pizza, subs, salads and more.
The dishes are family style and definitely shareable. Excellent customer service and a great casual vibe.
I love the thin style pizza with a crunchy crust and generous toppings and sauce just right. The Caprese pizza was a hit. I loved the salad! It’s giving Olive Garden vibes but way better quality and freshness. On to the pasta dishes I was so caught up in the fettuccine and Oh My goodness that vodka pasta dishes was
But then I spotted the star of the show, Chicken Marsala. That’s one of my all time favorites. If it’s made right. And this, this was incredible.
The perfect pasta texture, sauce was perfect in flavor and coated the pasta well. I love the generous portobello mushrooms with pieces of white meat chicken breast. This is one hearty, comfort dish I can’t wait to come back for.
This was a first visit and we were taking our neighbors out as a thank you for all their help over the past couple of years. We are so glad we visited!!
The food was amazing. Alex, our server was very patient with our entertaining neighbor as well as very helpful and efficient. We had their daily ravioli special, which today was a large mushroom filled pocket of nirvana. I really wanted to pull a When Harry Met Sally moment but didn’t think the other patrons would have appreciated it. The ravioli was in an absolutely sinful Parmesan Cream Sauce and served with grilled fresh asparagus and house made garlic bread. The dinner salad that came out before was a good size compared to some other more upscale Italian places. My husband had the Chicago Special sandwich with peppers, onions, and provolone cheese. It was a very large and messy sandwich but it was so good he actually finished the whole thing. We also couldn’t resist their desserts and brought home a chocolate hazelnut and a chocolate Raspberry tartufo for after our food coma.
Our neighbors both ordered the lasagna. One had the basic sugo (red sauce) and the other opted for the bolognese. The portions are larger than most Italian restaurants so they each took enough home for another two or three meals.
At the risk of making it so I might have to wait in line to get a table, I highly recommend this place for home made, high quality Italian. Ask for Alex if he’s available. You won’t regret it.
We used a Groupon to save about $19 on our meal. With that discount, after tax and tip, we paid about $55 for two entries, two sodas and an appetizer.
Our waitress, Rachel, was very nice, obviously experienced, and did everything right.
I had the lasagna with a giant, grilled spicy sausage. My wife had the chicken parm and we shared the deep fried ravioli with marinara gravy. All were hot, substantial in size, and generally tasty.
I’ll eat here again, but I won’t be tripping over anyone to do it. The food was good, but not great. However, for AJ, it is a worthy eatery which local residents should know about.
Honestly wayyy too overpriced to be having to serve my own drinks, meanwhile i felt the service provided to everyone but me and my wife was good and we just got on the go service. As for the food, it felt like school pizza in all honest. The pasta add-ons are way too overpriced lol. I could go to a fancy restaurant in scottsdale for a 30$ pasta that the actual pasta is handmade, i dont know if everything here is homemade, but i have a feeling that it wasnt. Store bought products, mixed with some at home cooking. I could tell because of the chicken on the alfredo, it looked like it came out of a freezer bag and boiled. Ill do anything to keep my wife happy, but to have the audacity to continue and sit in my face and wait for me to tip good and the only options are 20-25-30% which was icing on the cake.
I personally feel it should be 10-15-20 and 20 percent is, if you get amazing service. But the service i received was horrible honestly, not really a service to be honest at all. But regardless i still paid 20% too. And i do hope it was worth it for this kind of review. As I am the one who suggested this place to my wife and have been wanting to come here for a while and experience it, as i love going to all the pizza places in the valley, But this was just not something ill look forward to every going again and to be quite frank, I feel i was treated different cause of how i looked. Thankyou but no thankyou.
-edit: Had to come back at 4:17 in the morning the next day, i threw up all the pizza. I feel horrible. I want my money back honestly. Had to miss a day of work because this pizza made me sick to my stomach. I threw up all the sauce. Its like it all foamed up in my stomach and my body rejected it. Completely weird and unusual from any other place i’ve experienced in my life. From the owner responding in the most basic way possible was pretty shameful too. No reachout either to make it right is wild. I do not recommend this place at all. And i want my money back. For the time money i wasted here that i had to miss on a sick day of work because i got sick from your food. 1 star, im sorry but ive got it all documented with a doctors visit and photos that i showed my doctor of the foam sauce i threw up, i could easily go to the BBB. And i honestly would after seeing some of the other reviews and how customers are treated. I just want my money back. Thankyou.
Ordered the Cheese Ravioli with a salad and water cup, my mom had the Nana G’s cold sub with French fries and water cup. Acceptable sized water cups, atmosphere was the same as last time, came in shortly after opening on a weekday, wasn’t busy but did get very busy right around noon.
I liked my cheese ravioli, it was pretty good, the garlic bread was okay, and the salad I gave to my mom. She liked the salad but the nana g’s sub was too big, I mean, see attached photo, how is someone supposed to eat it? She didn’t really eat much of the sub, it’s too big to eat like a sub, kind of defeats the purpose if you ask me.
There were no issues with quality per se, my garlic bread wasn’t as good this time as last time, but it was still good. The service was good at first before becoming spotty, seemed like only 1 lady working and that was not enough for lunch time, too many tables for just 1 person. She was friendly. The French fries were very a little too salty, on a lasting note.
Overall still a 5 star experience, even with some minor issues.
– The men’s bathroom had no paper towels, awkward experience, did tell 2 employees about it, hopefully it was restocked quickly.

[2025 – 11 months ago] – 5 stars overall
Ordered the fettuccine alfredo with garlic bread (it comes with a salad but I decided to substitute it for more garlic bread). It was around $21 with an 18% tip (no drink, just water).
It was smaller than I expected in the seating area, there are booths, tables, at least one single half booth/half table, and a bar seating area. They had a giant TV with 4 different games going on, each one in their own corner of the TV. The food was better than expected, it wasn’t just some carelessly thrown together pasta, it appeared there was effort put into it. Tasted great.
The bathroom was clean as well which is nice.
Lots of parking, there is a small outdoor seating area as well. I would imagine it gets very busy here on the weekends and that there will probably be a wait associated with that. If I had to guess.
I’d come back.
Salad was large and overall good.
