Great atmosphere, tasty, high quality Indian food.
I live in the area and have been to Palace of Asia a number of times. The decor and restaurant atmosphere is upscale, quiet and pleasant. The food is tasty and authentic, and the chef will take special requests: more or less spicy and low salt for my uncle with a heart issue. The quality of the food is definitely above average compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. I recommend the restaurant to all and everyone. The lunch buffet is a great bargain for this level of food. The buffet is available Monday to Friday.

Food was not good. Ordered lollipop chicken but gave hot wings. We asked if the order got mixed up but said they serve as such. I never had lollipop chicken that had wings. The dish was not lollipop. Also had lamb korma, it was not good. I felt sauce and meat was cooked separately. Because when you have just the meat, there is no seasoning and korma flavor. I felt meat was added later as per serving not cooked as one dish. Chicken biriyani was flat for me. Overall experience was not good.
To the owner…off-coarse i will finish the meal since I paid for it. Why waste food????

So, I decided to try this restaurant on the recommendation of the front desk staff at the adjoining hotel. I will say the food was okay, somewhat traditional, though honestly, Trader Joe’s frozen vindaloo has more flavor and bite too it.
Why I am leaving a review is the pricing. I ordered the Goat Vindaloo $15.95 with the Garlic Naan $2.75. Now I did also have a glass of wine and a glass of water but the alcohol was supposedly covered by a check in coupon from the hotel.
When my check arrived, there was no breakdown of the items served but just had a generic charge of $24.00 plus $1.44 for tax. Now, correct me if I am wrong but how do you justify the charge of $24.00 for $18.70 worth of food?
I can only guess that the additional charge was for the wine, which leads me to believe they didn’t honor the free drink coupon from the Best Western.
I have a sinking suspicion that the restaurant and hotel are the same family and I will be leaving a review at Best Western too, where I am a member.
My pricing is based off the menu you handed me when I entered your restaurant and was told I could keep it in case I decided to order from my hotel room. I am very thorough and to accuse me of being deceitful or dishonest in my statement is reprehensible. I have the menu. I have supplied the photos of the pricing. You sir are despicable for trying to undermine my assessment of the charges. As for Trader Joes, it isn’t the salt but the spices that give it some heat.

They tried to tell us that in this cup was a boneless while chicken. It may have held one chicken breast. Went back to the restaurant and they wanted $20 for more chicken. Ripped off. We will never go back.

We’ve eaten here periodically over the last twenty years and have never been disappointed. Our recent visit was excellent. Food is very good, staff is lovely and welcoming and they will tailor the spice level to your taste (I like Indian food a great deal, but can’t eat things that are very hot). We particularly like the chicken korma, and order it often, but everything is very good and prices are quite reasonable.

I’ve been going to Palace of Asia since they’ve first opened close to 20 years ago. Always good quality, always good service. We moved about an hour away but still try to come back when possible. Didn’t know about the fire and accidentally went to old location, they were so nice holding our reservation while we figured things out. They even texted us directions.
Great food and sweet people!
