Storied cafe serving American eats amid tin ceilings & wainscoting in a 1908 brick storefront.

I walked from my hotel for
breakfast at this historic Cafe
and found good food at a
fair price.
It was not really busy and I
ordered the two pancake &
two egg breakfast with a
side of sausage patties after
a short wait.
The breakfast menu includes
omelettes, waffles, pancakes,
French Toast, fruit bowls, a
variety of coffee drinks, and
much more.
I received my order in about
ten minutes with eggs that were scrambled and not fried.
The waffles were huge and
were fluffy with a nice taste to them.
The sausage patties had a
nice mild taste.
The scrambled eggs had a
nice taste and were not overcooked.
You will also find a lunch and dinner menu with burgers,
sandwiches, soups, steaks, milkshakes, wraps, desserts,
and much more.
Located on North Main Street
(I-90) and Fourth in downtown
Ellensburg.
One of those long established cafes with great food, friendly
service, interesting decor,
and a down home vibe.

My wife and I visited the Palace Cafe on the morning of Friday, November 28, while driving east to Pullman for WSU football. This is a very nice nostalgic restaurant. Large seating areas. My wife had the Eggs Benedict, and I had Fried Eggs and Hashbrowns. So good! We will be back.

This place is such a good spot in Ellensburg for anyone looking for a sit-down restaurant with a fun ambience. Our server, Mikey, was an absolutely wonderful man! The food was quite good as well (I put four stars just because it wasn’t mind-blowing but it still very good!). I definitely recommend 🙂

Fun decor of yesteryear but in a well-kept dining room. Most of the food was notably fresh. Comfy booths. Only saw street parking but we got a spot on the next block at 5:15 pm on a Friday. Attentive waitress. Wild sockeye salmon was nicely cooked. We didn’t try them but they had a display of baked goods that looked delicious – cookies, brownies, pie, etc. A fair stream of people coming in, especially families. Patrons seemed to be nicely attired in dressy casual clothes.
The negatives were that I chose the brown gravy for my parties and it tasted like powdered gravy mix. And the bathroom had some minor details that could be better.
Note that breakfast wasn’t offered in the evening.
All in all, we plan to come back again when opportunity allows.

Great time there! Good wait staff, great food. I got the tuna melt, totally worth it, husband got the award winning chili burger…. wasn’t that award winning, but it wasn’t terrible by any means. The award winning otter pop shot, 100% worth it delicious!
Check it out if you get a chance!

Super cute little place. Staff was friendly and filled our drinks quick. I got the chicken ciabatta sandwich and fries, chicken was moist and the fries were crunchy. Strawberry lemonade was a perfect combo! Prices were great for the quantity and we all left happy!

I usually write about restaurants months after visiting, which helps me rate the place more fairly. If I can’t remember what I ate, that usually means it was typical food you can get anywhere—and that’s what I see here. That said, I vividly remember the classic wood-accented vibe, which made me slow down and actually enjoy myself. I came back for a second visit, which says a lot. The waiter we had was excellent, checking in just the right amount, which I really appreciate. If you’re passing through E-burg, this spot in downtown is definitely worth the stop—great atmosphere, solid service, and a reason to linger. How I rate below.
★ Skip it. Not worth the napkin.
★★ Only if desperate. Starving, lost, or snowing sideways.
★★★ Forgettable. Safe bar food, like warm socks from a bargain bin.
★★★★ Worth returning. Solid, dependable, no regrets.
★★★★★ The reason you go. Crave-worthy, intentional, makes you pause—how did they make that?

When in Ellensburg and your looking for some classics this place has it! I ordered the prime rib here and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! Got the grilled prawns with it and enjoyed it! Best last meal I’ve had there and will come back when I visit again!

Absolutely fantastic! If you’re looking for a unique experience this place is it. The decor is so fun, it is comfy, cozy and quiet (I really appreciated how sound didn’t echo and the music played at a very low level unlike many other restaurants); the food was delicious with many options and came incredibly fast; their cocktail/mixed drink menu is endless (the price for the alcohol content is fair- they don’t skimp); and our sever (Micky) was so lovely! Worth going!
