Having tired of shopping for bathroom tiles, we explored the mall in Gainesville for dinner. We were delighted to find this Indian restaurant.
We ordered Madras fish curry and Palak Paneer with naan and rice. Both dishes were melt-in-your mouth tender and aromatic.
The Marsala sauce was fresh, not too thick, an aromatic mix with fresh leaves and removable chiles. The dips were fresh too, one of sweet green chiles, the other like a western vinaigrette.
The service was excellent and the bathrooms unusually stylish and clean.
Yes, we did have a full lunch of tasty leftovers the next day.
The atmosphere was fairly good, enhanced by Indian-western jazz fusion, much more interesting than Bollywood song and dance numbers.
This will be our new go-to Indian restaurant.

Their entrees are good but their thali was not. It felt more like an economical meal, people forget that Thali is a way to make your customers taste different things so they’re tempted to order those as entrees next time, but instead all we got was potatoes as the protein in most of it, hardly any other veggies or paneer. Even the dal makhani felt quite diluted and kheer was also ok, nothing to write home about or order again. Would have been nice if they had di diversified it to be one decent dal, one paneer dish, and one any other veggie like most Indian restaurants do. Their breads are good though, might give them another chance in the future.

Pakwaan Indian Cuisine truly delivers an authentic Indian dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and you can immediately tell it’s prepared with care and traditional recipes. The aroma of the spices was incredible — rich, warm, and perfectly balanced without being overpowering. Every dish was flavorful and beautifully presented.
The customer service was just as impressive. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal.
If you’re looking for genuine Indian cuisine with amazing flavors and great hospitality, Pakwaan is definitely worth visiting. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Food is always excellent here. Good spice level. I recommend their chicken momos, tandoori chicken, fresh naans and butter chicken. The butter chicken especially is honestly amazing, really good depth of flavor.
Service is great and attentive.

We visited this restaurant last evening. A big group of 20 people!! Quick service, Delicious food, reasonable price and small portion size which keeps your appetite on to try different dishes! Loved the ambiance, staff was very friendly and welcoming. We tried dal fry, rajsthani daal; both the dishes were supremely delicious had a typical mumbai touch!!! Their non veg dishes (especially fish) were truly commendable!! However, tomato soup was a little tangy and below average!! Needless to say that overall experience was a superb treat to my pallet!

Umm, yeah, this place is great! The person searching me ended up being my best friend when I left. Yes I ate everything in the pictures, it was soooo good. The only thing that was rough for my palate was the pickled veggies, nothing wrong just a very different flavor than I’m used to. Beer was awesome with the quality Indian cuisine.

This restaurant is my go to place for some north Indian food in Gainesville. It is the best!! I always order dal makhani and it has never disappointed me even once. Went there with my father yesterday and he loved his chicken methi malai. Bread was soft and delicious. The plfolks who provide service are super nice and committed.

My kids and I had dinner there about a week ago. We got more basic dishes: two orders of butter chicken, one order chicken tikka, three orders of garlic naan. The food was incredible. Best butter chicken I’ve had in years. The staff was very friendly and very attentive. The location itself is in a very convenient location, well lit, incredibly clean, and even smells great. Not just the food, but the incense they were burning was remarkable. A cricket game was on TV. It felt a lot like my kids and I had been welcomed into a home, not just a restaurant. I can tell the proprietor has put a ton of work into Pakwaan Indian Cuisine. We’ll be back.
