Paisley pear was recommended to me by a friend, decided to try it out and it was amazing! Ordered loaded chicken nachos, they were the best nachos weve had in a long time. We ordered the Turkey apple brie and Blackberry Ham sandwich, personal preference, the turkey apply brie was better, both were unique and good! Jana, our server was very welcoming, always had a smile and helped with all of our questions as it was our first time. Great food, great service, great place. Will be back again soon!

We stumbled upon this lovely and quaint cafe while walking around downtown Hays, KS. I attended college at FHSU, right in town, and was visiting relatives on this trip. While downtown Hays has undergone many changes over the years, its places like these you hope will stand the test of time.

I had seen the Paisley Pear online and it appeared to be more of a wine bar, so I wasn’t sure what to expect for food. We were pleasantly surprised to encounter an entire menu of excellent lunch options, set among a cozy dining room. The staff were friendly, the food delicious, and it gives me something extra to look forward to next time I’m in the area.

Im writing this review as I sit in this adorable restaurant! Im here on a work trip and this restaurant makes me wish my trip was longer so I could come again. Sierra was our server and she literally rocks. The food was top tier and so was the service. I now love Hays because of Paisley Pear Bar!!! Love love love everything about this place.

A long trip to Hays for an appointment became a lovely outing when we decided to have lunch at the Paisley Pear. So many delicious sounding menu items it was hard to decide. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our choices (we’ll definitely return and try other selections). Besides the great sandwiches and salad, we brought home some organic blueberry preserves, and will stock up on other locally-made products next time (didn’t know there was sausage until I read a review after we’d come home!). I’m posting photos of our sandwiches, but forgot to take a pic of the rhubarb pie and ice cream! So good! Very attentive friendly server, and the owner stopped to chat. Nice people!

Amazing first experience. Really neat corner spot on Main St with an easy-going atmosphere. My turkey guacamole wrap was delicious, as was my coworker’s chicken salad sandwich and soup. The rhubarb strawberry pie was clearly homemade and also delicious; the perfect amount of sour and sweet. We met the owner, and he was super friendly. Solid 5/5.

The building is quite beautiful from a long gone by era. Disappointing however was a combination of service and food. Ordered the gouda pepper soup. We were given tomato basil soup. We asked the wait staff if we were served the wrong soup. She said oh no tomato soup is a different color. This soup was tomato red. We’ve only eaten tomato basil soup probably fewer than 1,000 times (hyperbole) so obviously we couldn’t possibly know the difference. Sarcasm implied. Rather than offering us a taste of the basil and pepper Gouda soup to compare or bringing us another bowl, they simply implied we didn’t know what we were talking about. Could have been an off day for the wait person. Mistakes happen, I fully understand. And yes I still left a tip because it is the right thing to do. It shows respect to the wait staff.

BEWARE. THEY CHARGE 3% FOR CREDIT CARD use!!!!!
.Not sure how this place gets good reviews. Soup is store bought, sandwich is average I guess, came at happy hour still got charged full price for drinks and BEWARE they charge an extra 3% for credit cards. Come on, u r either in business or u r not. Businesses that do this are simply not. Please tell your patrons, it’s not a big deal if u know it before u pay.Not the waitress’ fault too bad they have to deal with it.

Staff was top notch – prompt, clean, helpful, and engaging too. Good pizza. A friendly place that I’d come back to when next I’m in Hays. A draw for downtown.

Stopped in for a drink and was so impressed with their whiskey selection! We had Angel’s Envy at $10 a glass (unheard of where we live!). They were the nicest people….very welcoming and friendly. They even allowed our toy poodle inside, which we really appreciated. Great atmosphere inside. Wish we had stayed to eat. Highly recommend!
