When Mike and Angela Angelis opened Paisan’s Old World Deli & Catering business in 1995, they knew they had a unique concept. More than just a deli, or sandwich shop, Angelis wanted to combine his 30 years’ experience in the food and beverage industry to offer a walk-in deli located in the heart of an industrial complex. We recently hosted our friend’s celebration of life reception at this awesome deli. Mike, the owner, was gracious, helpful, and generous with his time. Mike allowed us to come in the night before the event to decorate and turn his space into a fall wonderland. The day of the event he had delicious sandwiches, salads, and desserts ready. He was flexible and did not hassle us as the number of attendees doubled in size and his crew had to make more food to feed the hungry masses.

Popped in for a quick lunch and was very pleasantly surprised! They are on the more industrial part of longley- so not where you expect to find such a good food spot. Got the turkey Cesar sandwich on the Dutch bread (bread was sooo good) and their fries were also amazing. Broad menu with a lot of variety and good vegetarian options. The space is huge and clean- would be great for parties or large groups.

Arrived just after 1pm. Place was empty and pleasantly quiet. We ordered a BLT and a Reuben. The bacon on the BLT was cold and hard. Was expecting some warmth in the sandwich but it was stone cold. The Reuben was okay but there was too much sour kraut and too little of everything else. Felt and tasted like a sour kraut sandwich. Side of minestrone soup was pretty good, the highlight of the meal.

I travel to Reno for work once a month. This was my second visit to this establishment after a previous invitation. The food has been exceptional. They offer a wide-ranging menu. The service is adequate; however, I would appreciate more assistance, particularly for first-time visitors. While not a major concern, recommendations and suggestions for additional items would have been helpful. I wasn’t offered a beverage or chips with my sandwich. The atmosphere is pleasant, with appealing decorations and ample indoor and outdoor seating. I will certainly return if the opportunity arises, and I highly recommend giving it a try.

I ordered the House Sandwich Meal for $14.99. I chose the turkey and cheddar on sourdough bread. It came with chips, a drink, and a cookie. After tip, my meal came to $17.73.
The sandwich is good. I really can’t complain. The portion of turkey is average size (not generous) and the sourdough bread is quite good.
There was a line when I left. Apparently Reno has quite a few folks who don’t mind paying upwards of $20 for a lunch portion.
Last, the service is a bit hurried and there is ample seating in this spacious facility.

First, the place is nice. My wife liked her sandwich. I got a Rueben , but it seemed bland. I added salt but something was missing. By the time I realized I was finishing my sandwich. It was missing the Russian dressing. I had not had one in years so I did not snap to it. Being dissatisfied, I ordered another sandwich a muffaleta. She asked what bread and I said I do not know and she suggested Focaccia. It was disappointing as well. The olive mixture was barely noticeable, the bread was not the right choice and they use pastrami instead salami and ham. I think I will stick to Sprouts and pay $8 for an Italian sandwich versus nearly twice that after adding tax and tip. Reno/Sparks continues to be a desert when it comes to great food

Awkaward experience as tipping is difficult to navigate and appears to be mandatory. In order to complete your transaction you need to choose a tip or enter a custom amount. If you do not with to tip you have to choose custom amount and then manually type $0 tip. All of this while a staff member is watching you complete your $0 tip to go order.
You need a no tip option on checkout as Tipping is optional.
They need to change their software.

Tried this place today wow amazing food!!! Had a Lengua taco was very good great flavor also had a Pork Belly taco and it was very flavorful juicy meat had such great flavor and got their Chicken Garlic Pesto Sandwich and that didn’t disappoint was full of flavor and filling the bread was fresh will definitely be back. This place is a MUST try if you’re in Reno.

I seriously love this place. I work across the street at Sierra Medical Center, and it’s such a great lunch spot. I’ve gambled on the soup of the day twice and neither disappointed. They have the best sandwiches and soups – you can’t go wrong. And they’re always super nice. I order online for pickup and they’re fast! Love love love this place. I’m addicted.
