The service staff are super friendly. They know the regulars very well. It’s not a fast meal, but that makes it all the better. They hand make nearly everything, including the chips for the artichoke dip. Pasta is delicious, sauce is delicious, kids portions are generous, wine is good. Highly suggest to anyone in town, and anyone visiting Lawrence for the first time.

Great menu, wait staff, and ambiance! Not the best Italian food I’ve ever had, but I have high standards growing up in an Italian family. And there was nothing wrong with anything we had; it was all delicious! This place has gone so downhill! The service is not good. We were there an hour and a half. It took 30 minutes to get our appetizers and the mushrooms were completely cold and the mushrooms were uncooked. We did not get replacements until we received our dinner after another half hour. They were not even busy. We kept having to hunt down our waiter as well as he never came to our table. My husband’s dinner for $15 was literally served in the same small appetizer dish as the 3 mushrooms. We used to love this place, but we are done! Done waste your time…

Was pleasantly surprised by the quantity of food we received. My husband and I shared their equivalent of Olive Garden’s tour of Italy, and the portions were great- between that, our appetizer, and the (very good) breadsticks and salad, we ended up with some leftovers. My only complaint was with the staff- the hostess was a little bit rude, and our waiter took a while to get us refills and our check, although he was nice and friendly. The atmosphere definitely feels like a dive, but they have good food if that’s all you’re after.

I wish I could give it a better review however I have been there a couple of times and basically have had the same experience. Food is a five star… no question, solid. Family style salads, breadsticks are awesome…. my problem has been the staff and service. Friendly yes, however each time we’ve had to wait a very long time 25+ minutes for main course. How long does it take to make pasta? I imagine the marina sauce is already prepped ready to go…. the place was empty too. Anyhow, if you have patience, want some good Italian food, check it out. Been around a long time. Perhaps I have just had some bad luck. I have not given up on this place nor should you.

The people giving Paisano’s less than a five star rating are wrong. My dinner at Paisano’s was one of the best dining experiences of my life, and easily the best place I’ve ever dined in Lawrence. The atmosphere is absolutely perfect, and the food was incredible. I left the restaurant feeling more content than I have in years. My roommate and I have been talking about how wonderful our Paisano’s experience was for the past 6 hours.

Food was good when it finally came it took over a hour to get our food we saw people get their food eat it then leave everyone around us left. Our server said they were getting one of the dishes to the right temperature (twice) when we finally got our food we were offered a dessert but i asked for 1 for each of us which we got. I was disappointed that our server didn’t sent out the manager to apologize him/ herself. Last time i was there the manager walked around asking how things were. But because it took so long we filled up on bread and salad so now we have leftovers
