If you’re looking for an exclusive experience you must go visit this restaurant. The food was 20/10 I ordered mofongo with sauce and shrimps and it was delicious! Their juice is homemade and it was delicious! I owner is very lovely and attentive. The vibe feels like you’re in the Dominican Republic. The music and the people made it feel very welcoming. It was an amazing experience. I recommend trying the fried yuca with the white sauce shrimp, it’s amazing!

My sister and I decided to try this restaurant after discovering that our favorite Dominican spot in Rahway was closed on Sundays.
The restaurant itself is nice, clean, and well-kept. The food was good, not bad at all, but nothing particularly memorable either.
Unfortunately, the customer service left a lot to be desired. The woman assisting us seemed disengaged and wasn’t very helpful while we were placing our takeout order. My sister actually had to guide her on how much rice and pernil to include. It would have been helpful if she had explained the differences between a lunch order, a small dinner, and a large dinner so we could better understand portion sizes and pricing.
For reference, our exact takeout order was:
1 lunch order of pernil with arroz de guandules
1 small order of arroz blanco with habichuelas and pollo guisado
2 chicken empanadas
The total came to $47.
I also want to note that this was a takeout order, and $7 of gratuity was automatically added without informing us. We only noticed after the card had already been charged. Transparency about automatic gratuity would have been appreciated. We felt taken advantage of. It just doesn’t make for good customer service.
Luckily, it was a one time visit. We will stick to our local Dominican Restaurant in Rahway (Spanish Restaurant 3 on St. George’s Ave).

It’s definitely an authentic Dominican Restaurant you want to try. I feel I am in DR when I come here. My mofongo with shrimp was excellent, so flavorful!my husband had Churrasco and tostones, so juicy! Great natural drinks like morir soñando (orange juice and evaporated milk( and Chinolay avena(Passion fruit and oatmeal) was amazing. Very professional and friendly and accommodating.

Absolutely incredible experience at Paila y Leña in Linden! From start to finish, everything we ordered was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The coconut and mango lemonades were refreshingly delicious and the perfect start to our meal.
We tried a mix of dishes — the mixed seafood mofongo, chicken parm, pork mofongo, seafood paella, beef empanadas, Yucatan fries, and a fresh salad — and every single bite was amazing. Very Friendly. Food was so good! Owner came out to greet us as well. Inside was so clean!! Definitely recommend!! Avocado was so fresh and ripe. I had the stewed chicken- tender and very flavorful!! Finally seasoned food

The food was fresh, flavorful, & not greasy. Which is an issue with lots of Dominican cuisine restaurants. I got white rice, molondrones (okra), & avocado which were vegan friendly & delicious.
The location is conveniently located with a few parking spots in front / close by. You are able to dine in & they did mention that they were going to expand the location for more dine in space.
The owner Jose was very attentive & opened to food suggestions which I loved.

We see that this place desserts and “restaurant” services. We say “restaurant” services, because we have come to understand that they put more emphasis on mediocre desserts than their failed techniques in culinary experience. What do we mean by that? Their food eats very dry, they have very basic seasoning or lack of, and they do not even provide basic cutlery to appreciate the full culinary experience. What are we; animals? You definitely need to request for a sauce or something to counteract the certain dryness to their dishes. Oh, we forgot! You have to purchase it.

The food here was really good, it was rich in flavor and beautifully prepared. Portions were generous enough and at the same time not overdoing it, all with a fair price for dinner for 2. The mojito was good and kept me sipping long after I was through with my meal. The staff here are also friendly. Highly recommend.
