Absolutely delicious and beautifully presented! The crispy fried chicken is golden and juicy. The savory black bean sauce is rich and satisfying, complementing the fluffy, well-seasoned omelet wonderfully.

The food tasted authentic like I had it in Korea. I ordered jjamppong and sweet and sour pork. Last time I ordered jjajang and pork dish. I am gonna visit this place again when I visit that area (And what I really like about this place is the restroom is really clean!)

When I think of the BEST jjajangmyeon in Houston, I think of Paik’s Noodle. This location in spring branch is their original, and I grew up coming here for lunch every sunday after church.

1) Jjajangmyeon: My brother loves getting this one. It is sweet and a bit soupy from all the sauce. The noodles are chewy and bouncy, and get coated in the sauce nicely. There is a good amount of meat that comes with it too! The flavors are great.

2) Jaengbanjjajang: This is my go-to and personal favorite noodle dish to get here. It is similar to their original jjangmyeon except that it is less soupy and has a bit of spice. The spiciness adds a nice kick balancing the sweet and savory flavors. There are also lots of different mix ins like squid, shrimp, beef, and vegetables! The play on textures and contrasting flavors is why I love this dish

3) Spicy Chicken Wings (Yangnyeom): For not being a chicken wing restaurant, Paiks sure does serve some banger wings. Juicy big wings with a slight crisp on the outside. The sauce is amazing. It is that sweet and spicy yangnyeom korean fried chicken sauce.

4) Tangsuyuk: I never visit Paisk without ordering their tangsuyuk. Perfectly fried with a great chew. The pork is not too porky or gamey which is nice, and the sauce is a sticky sweet and sour sauce.

4) Gunmandoo: Their panfried dumplings are quite nice too! I haven’t gotten them in a while, but they were solid

Overall, I don’t think there was a single dish I disliked here at Paiks. Service is standard, not too fast not too slow. The ambiance is not really one for dates or anything. It’s super casual with metal chairs. It can get a bit cold. There are restrooms and water dispensers. They used to have the self serve yellow radish but now they just serve it with your meal. You have to clean your table yourself and put all the dish trays in the back

Unique and delicious spot coming from the famous Korean chef. We came here to try the classic dishes, including the black bean noodles and the deep-fried pork, and they did not disappoint, especially the noodles! We also got some amazing Hong Kong wings which were flavorful and tender. The pace at which the dishes comes out is amazing, and you can see them prep the dishes right behind the ordering table. They offer toppings and water as you need – very cafeteria type restaurant. Lots of indoor seating. Would recommend if you want a taste of authentic Korean cuisine.

Best Jjajangmyeong in houston!! Our family was served by Kim, who did an incredible job in greeting and serving. We came so many times and are aware that this is a self-service model. We were there at the slow time and she even brought the food to us, took it back to the kitchen when we were done, and helped us a lot with packing up leftovers for togo. She’s kind, sweet, passionate, really care about her customers and take this job very seriously. Foods are amazing, very authentic, highly recommend Jjajangmyeong and its stir fry version!!

The young lady greeting the customers was welcoming and accommodating, answering questions I had about the menu. It was obvious she cared about our dining experience. You go there for the food, Korean fast food of sorts. My friend and I ordered black bean noodles, sweet & sour pork, and dumplings. Locals go there to dine. It’s a casual place to eat. I’ll go back.

This location has plenty of parking and seating inside so even if you have a big party, it’s not too bad. You go up to a kiosk to order and grab it from the counter once your number is called. My friends and I ordered the regular jajangmyon, meat jajangmyon, and sweet and sour pork.
We got the sweet and sour pork first and wow, I am hooked. The texture of the fried pork is incredible. It has that perfect crisp outside and juicy/tender meat inside. And even when you pour the sauce over the meat, it still retains the crispiness pretty well. I’m personally not crazy for the sweet and sour sauce but just the texture of the fried pork itself was so addicting.
As for the jajangmyeon, as I stated earlier, we got both the original and the meat. I ordered the meat since I just wanted more protein and it was good but it’s just the original with more meat on top lol. The meat itself was good though so no complaints. The jjangmyeun was fantastic though! The noodles are cooked perfectly where it’s bouncy/chewy and the black bean sauce was sweet and savory.
Overall, I’m happy that I finally got to try Paik’s noodle and this restaurant positively contributes to the Korean Food scene in HTX.

The food wasn’t great. It wasn’t bad either. Just an ok experience with the food. The sweet and sour pork wasn’t crispy. The noodles tasted overcooked and soft. All the dishes lacked. It was missing something. It reminded me of chinese food more than Korean food.

Tried the tangsyk and the crispy batter was unique and delicious, but the sauce was way too sweet. Pro tip: ask to skip the sauce and put the black bean sauce on it instead. The dumplings were also fried in a nice a crispy manner, but not hard. Tables are very clean! They come and wipe them as soon as a customer leaves. The black bean sauce with omelet and cabbage soup was delicious and felt like comfort food! Definitely coming back for more!

It’s a counter service restaurant, you walk up to a prompter and place your order. Not good or bad but worth noting.
You can see them cooking the food which is fast and hot and gives you something to look at while you wait.
Just about all entrees are 20 dollars. Large portions kinda like family style. We loved it, will be going back. The creamy shrimp was delicious . Everything was great. Dumplings hot and crispy, jjamopong sauce was great .
