Passion, determination, and attention to details are the elements that make Paesano Ristorante one of the most appreciated Italian restaurants in San Jose and in Bay Area.
Giuseppe Spatola (Pino), owner and chef of Paesano Restaurant was born and raised in Palermo.
In the 80s he moved to the USA to join one of his brothers who was living in New York.
After experiencing the new country for one year and eager to follow the Californian dream, Pino relocated to San Jose, where his second brother was running a restaurant.
Ambitious and determined to succeed, Pino spent a few years working hard and learning all about cooking and management until he opened his own restaurant in Redwood City called Siciliano.
Contemporary Italian eatery lures locals with its traditional dishes served in a cheerful interior.
350 West Julian Street, San Francisco CA 95110. $$ Italian. Nestled in the Little Italy district of San Jose, Paesano Ristorante Italiano is a local gem …
I really enjoyed visiting here! The service was good, and even though it was in a small house, it didn’t feel crowded. As far as I can tell, everything was made in house even down to the mozzarella sticks. They are definitely not those reheated microwave kinds, they’re bigger and really good. I will say it’s a little pricey, but if you know that it’s going to be amazing and very high quality, then it isn’t a problem. Lasagna came right out of the oven piping hot, and the Spaghetti Porticello was so good! The Black Forest cake was the best I’ve ever had. Wish it had a few more cherries, but still the best.
I am really pleased with this place . I tired this place for the first time with a group of 7 and a baby and was very delighted with the service. Though the location is not too big in size . I enjoyed the family style and feel I got . They have a bar as well and I enjoyed the pomegranate margarita. I had 3 of them . Very tasty and well in potency .seating inside and a few outside with covering so your not too cold . Parking can be a little bit of challenge of you are not familiar with the area . Although they have plenty of parking being that it is in the city . Nice little park behind if you want to take a stroll before or after your date . Great date option for sure if you want to impress . I parked at star parking . I’ll leave the photo for reference .
Recommend you make reservations, even on a Monday night. We made some and requested to sit outdoors, but the person we spoke with did not make note of the request and they were unable to accomodate us once we got there. Inside was a bit loud since it is a small space and there were several birthdays being celebrated. I ordered the fish special and it was very tasty. The fried calamari is also pretty good.
Loved the pasta here and will definitely come back again!
Really great meal. Loved the Branzino that I got from the specials menu. Everyone with me also really enjoyed the pasta dishes they ordered. The staff is also really nice and very attentive.
This is the best Italian restaurant I have been to in South Bay area. While it’s expensive, we felt everything we tried is worth. If I were to be picky, Tiramisu tasted a bit diluted. I found this quite often in places where they make desert in house.
Here, it feels like your italian granma cooks yummies for you. Feels so cozy, the antique atmosphere on spot. There’s a bar table you can take if walking in. Recommend for a couples date night for sure
After months since my first visit, I come back for the review. We were really enjoy visit Paesano and impressed by their service. My server was very patient and considerate, even in the busy time. The food was good and the kitchen splits the main course evenly for us. It is not common to see a restaurant like Paesano provide a comfortable dining environment with good food and very good service with $$ price. Absolutely worth visiting again.
Service was pleasant, on time. Food was tasty. Healthy choices in the menu. I ordered a spinach salad and minestrone soup.
Amazing food! I ordered the flat noodles with crab and creamy tomato vodka sauce, the pasta was flavourful, perfectly cooked and on point. My partner ordered the beef ravioli and it was amazing too, pretty strong flavors but strong in all the right spots.
