Authentic Neapolitan pizza in the heart of Glasgow city centre
Reviews
The service is as high-quality as the ingredients. Even at peak hours, the staff remains attentive and incredibly fast. We barely had time to settle into our seats before our pizzas arrived, accompanied by fresh cutlery and complimentary water.
The pizzas themselves are the real stars:
* The Spinach & Ricotta: A creamy, earthy delight where the ricotta melds perfectly with fresh spinach and mushrooms.
* The Spicy Ventricina: A bold, authentic Italian experience with a spicy-salty profile that provides a unique twist on tradition.
For the final touch, their chili oil adds a brilliant heat that ties everything together. We were too full to try their signature dessert : tiramisu. However this gives us an excuse to visit the restaurant again next trip to Glasgow.
Given the central location and the affordable price point, it’s easily one of the best value-for-money meals in the city. Be aware of long lines up during lunch and dinner peak hours.
The pizza itself tasted incredible! But it was so difficult to eat? The base of the pizza felt a bit undercooked and very doughy. All the toppings just slid off of the slice and onto the plate when I tried to pick it up. I couldn’t even dip my pizza into the dip that I bought because the dip was too thick and the pizza was too wet? I also feel they were a bit shy with the fior de latte? Could just be me I love cheese on my pizza so.
The service was also very lack luster, our table waited 20 minuets for our plates to be cleared and there were plenty of servers around. I asked for another water and it was never brought in the end.
I’m sad because the actual flavour and taste of the pizza were but it was just annoying to eat and I felt like it was a waste of money 🙁
Don’t think I’ll be back
Generous toppings of good quality. Dough has notes of fresh wheat and good fermented flavour.
Overall this is a great spot to have pizza in Glasgow.
Whilst some staff were kind and attempted to make amends, and informed me at the time of settling the bill that a portion of the charge had been waived.
However, after a while the manager came over and told me I should have advised them not to place the cake in a very warm spot, and that I should have instructed them to put it in the freezer.
I realise that perhaps because the restaurant was extremely noisy, the staff did not hear clearly.
I had already told the staff member that the cake should not be kept in a hot place. As this was a chocolate cake, it must have been placed somewhere very warm, which caused the entire cake to melt.
When I tried to explain this to the manager, he walked away before I had finished speaking. Although I do not wish to blame anyone, I felt very upset being told that this was my responsibility.
While I appreciate that part of the bill was waived, what I really wanted was my cake back, and for the manager to listen to what I had not yet finished saying.
The pizza was very good and the restaurant itself is great, but unfortunately I do not think I will come back.
I was recommended to try Paesano Pizza during a short visit to Glasgow, and I’m genuinely glad I did. From the moment I walked in, the experience was fantastic.
Despite how busy the place was, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and efficient. I was lucky to find a seat in such a popular spot, and the atmosphere was lively yet comfortable.
The pizza itself was outstanding — rich in flavour and authentically Italian. It genuinely felt like a taste of Naples right in the heart of Glasgow. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the central location, and the service was impressively fast. My order arrived within minutes, served with clean cutlery and complimentary tap water.
Overall, I highly recommend Paesano Pizza to anyone visiting Glasgow. I’ll definitely make time to return on my next trip!
The pizzas were incredibly tasty — and what impressed me the most is that they were still delicious the next day. We had some leftovers in the morning, and they tasted amazing even then, which says a lot about the quality.
I’ve probably eaten at Pizzano around ten times already and I absolutely love it. The quality is always consistent and never disappoints. We ordered ham and mushroom, a vegetable pizza, and a classic Margherita — all of them were amazing.
As always, fantastic pizza. Highly recommend!
The restaurant operates on a walk-ins only basis and can get extremely busy.
We came at a peak time and had to wait about 10minutes to get a seat, once we were seated we were served quickly!
Just a note: The seating is quite close together and when the restaurant is full, it can be very loud and overwhelming. If you don’t like such atmospheres it might not be the place for you 🙂
