Probably the best restaurant in Southend. Absolutely loved it. The food was cooked to perfection. All the pastas and fish were extremely flavoursome. The service topped it off. The staff are so friendly. They’re super happy and cheerful and they also check in with you and have chats! Really loved it. Veera’s customer service is beyond amazing. Definitely recommend!!

first thing first, best coffee I’ve ever had in here – definitely try the ‘floater coffee’ if you are a coffee lover, the cold cream on top and hot sweet coffee at the bottom combine for every sip just amazing!!! So, we had set menu dinner with dessert/drinks at Padrino on a Monday night, this is our first time dining in here, beautiful restaurant, absolutely generous portion size and quick service. All the members of staff are very friendly, make you feel super welcomed, one of the ladies who serviced us explained what’s the special today, how is the coffee made etc etc whenever I was curious about the things on the menu, she was soooooo nice already can’t wait to come back next time

A bit hit and miss – Visited on Friday, 30th May 2025, for a 21st Birthday Meal. Has a slightly disorganised feel to how the waiting staff deal with customers, but it has a charm like a family-run business. The food was good, but not cheap. Had to phone to book a table rather than use an online system. The quality of the bread in the olive oil/balsamic vinegar dip was of cheap/poor quality standard

Always amazing food and service. Feels like an Italian home! Amazing servers who have all been there for a long time that remember their customers and provide the same excellent service standard, every time! The food couldn’t be faulted, it is also excellent every time. I highly recommend the monk fish and the homemade fresh tiramisu!

I visit this restaurant very often- maybe once a month with my family. The staff are sooooo kind and attentive and it has that warm and friendly feel!!!!! The food is probably the best I’ve tasted from an Italian restaurant in the UK!!! I get the arrabbiata every time which I definitely recommend. I’d recommend booking if visiting after 5pm as it gets very busy. 🙂

Food was great, the specials board has lots of variety so does the menu, I wish I had even five minutes to browse I would’ve gotten something else. Very tasty food but felt like it was missing something, my friend got the penne chicken Arrabbiata and I got the mixed seafood marinara however my dish was 90% oil and not marinara, so I took some of the marinara/arrabbiata sauce from my friend and it really elevated the dish!! Seafood was great but squid didnt seem that fresh, little bit dry, still very tasty I would get it again! The crème brûlée tastes a bit like banana which was weird still nice For a starter we had bruschetta, was very delicious!! Forgot to take a picture of the bruschetta, as you can see in the second photo the amount of oil and no actual marinara sauce which is weird because it was meant to, it definitely needed the marinara.
We found this place while visiting Southend from London as not many places were open. Out of most places this was highly rated and reviewed so we settled on Padrino. The recent (past 3/6months) reviews about the service is in fact true. However, doesn’t apply to all the staff members. 2 out of the 5 working that night were lovely and I’d happily be served by them again, the other three unfortunately weren’t that great as the previous negative reviews say !! It is true you are rushed and it seems like they don’t want to be there or they don’t want you there. Also, as the time went on there was actually no need to rush us like that when we hadn’t even have a chance to sit down and take off our bags etc, if the kitchen was closing in twenty minutes that is plenty of time to allow two people to at least have a look properly at the specials board, drinks menu etc for a few minutes before asking them if they’re ready or if they want anything to drink (bare in mind I had just sat down my bag was still on me and opened up the first page of the food menu )
The lady we ordered with was lovely, and the man that looked after our table from then on was great!
Unfortunately, I didn’t get the names of the lovely waiter and waitress!

Absolutely amazing dinner today! We left with huge smiles on our face and full stomachs! The chilli garlic tomato pizza bread was so good we gobbled it up between the two of us. And then still managed to finish most of the mains! The pizza was excellent, delicious ingredients and a fluffy light crust. Service was great, attentive staff, cannot wait to get back here when we visit Southend again. Thank you!

First time here – we went because we were seeing the matinee panto, so booked an early lunch.
The staff were absolutely lovely and very welcoming and smiling.
The waitress recommended the tomato chilli bread to start, and I have to say it’s well worth it! It was so good we ordered another. We didn’t find it spicy, more a lovely warm chilli taste with the tomato. Highly recommend that!
We had a selection of pizzas, pasta and lasagne, and no one had a bad word. Everything arrived quick and hot, and the kids menu was great portions. Very tasty and filling, and nothing crazy priced. Everything was really good value. They also had zero alcohol beer options which is great.
We’d absolutely go back again!
