I have mixed feelings about Paddy Wagon. I will say that it’s a nice bar with decent space inside and outside (about 8 or so outdoor tables under cover), with one pool table and dart boards. They have plenty of televisions to watch a game, and the bartender seemed cool.

I took off a star because there’s really no reason to call this an Irish pub. Pubs serve food, which this place does not. Serving Guinness and having some Guinness posters on the wall doesn’t make you an Irish pub. This is basically a modern bar with some Irish decorations and club music. That doesn’t mean it’s not a cool place, but I would never call it an Irish pub. Aside from all that it’s a nice spot to grab a drink in downtown Tampa, just don’t expect a pub.

Called in for a refreshment in the heat mid-afternoon. Bar had plenty of options for draft and bottles. It was quiet enough to carry a conversation easily without having to shout, so that was good. Played some pool (4x25c a game) and others were playing darts. It gets busy rather quickly and looked to have its regulars when we walked past at night, which wasn’t as welcoming for us, but worth a try during the day for sure.

First and foremost, I use to come here all the time one of my favorite places when I lived in the Bay Area. Tonight, I had an encounter with one of the bartenders that denied my access because my drivers license was from Puerto Rico it was considered “unacceptable” because it was quote on quote unacceptable due to it being a “international ID”. This left a horrible taste in my mouth and I proceeded to leave the establishment. I typically am not the one to leave unnecessary reviews but this type of ignorance is without explanation and speaks volume of the ignorance they decided to hire. They lost a loyal customer and the many more to come after I spread the word.

Discriminated against 21+ customers. Showed a 21+ ID and the bouncer said “I can’t take this ID because there was smudges on the ID” when it was a real 21+ ID. He didn’t take the ID because he knows the cops would’ve been called & they would’ve gotten in trouble. Absolutely terrible experience & discriminated against

Great little dive bar in Downtown. Especially on Football Sundays!! 15 TVs with every game showing (NFL Sunday ticket I think), no chaos with too many people/crowds and easy to get a bar seat or table. We came with a group of friends to watch Bucs game, Pats game, and Cowboys game all at same time. Large selection of beers on draft, pool table and dartboards. Really the only functional sports bar in this area of downtown Tampa (since that “Tampa Pirates Burger bar” really doesn’t have any other game besides Bucs game, not actually a sports bar for football Sundays). Great service and experience!

This is a real bar. The bartenders were absolutely incredible. There were many locals and everyone was friendly, welcoming, super fabulous. Great selection of beer and alcohol. Cannot wait to go back.

Celina was literally such a sweetheart. She talked to me and gave me recommendations to help me explore the city. I went there around 1 pm on a Thursday and even though it was just me in the bar, I did not feel bored at all.

Drink was 10/10.
Celina, she was 100/10!

Definitely recommend this place.

Paddy Wagon Irish Pub in downtown Tampa is hands-down my go-to spot. The staff here is incredible—Matt, Tyler, Selina, Courtney, Mel, and Britta are the best crew you’ll find behind any bar in the city. Seriously, best bartenders in downtown Tampa. Great vibe, cold beer, pool tables, darts—what more do you need?

Huge shoutout to Matt for bringing in Busch Light just because I asked for it. It didn’t even last 24 hours, which tells you everything you need to know. All good though—more coming next week! Love this place, highly recommend to anyone looking for a chill, fun, and friendly pub.
