Been here quite a few times but this is about their unique single setting, 8+ course dinner theme menu nights. Setting is an old general store/ gas station, casual where you can grab a drink from the cooler, sit and enjoy incredible food in a very casual, yet somehow elegant, setting. The theme dinner nights are a must-do for every resident and visitor to the Sandpoint area. If you have the opportunity to do so… do it. 4+ hours at long tables with friends enjoying 8+ courses of ridiculously meticulous gourmet tastes (in our case, Italian night), each uniquely woven by an outstanding chef who introduces each of his creations with pride only to be outdone by the actual taste. We will try to hit every single one of these we can.

Pack River Store does not disappoint! It’s one of my husband and my favorite places in the Clark Fork area. I’ve tried almost all of the dishes (don’t miss out on the Thai noodle pork dish if it’s a special!) and the Avocado toast at breakfast is probably one of my favorites. I get it with chicken added. However, you can’t go wrong with anything on their menu! It’s situated and a cute little “once upon a time” gas station, with beverages served via coolers. The food comes out pretty quickly, and everyone they are so nice.

Ate there today food was good as always, however before we were done eating the waitress brought us a box without asking she grabbed my gf’s sandwich and put it the box. She also grabbed my food and the napkin out of my hand again without saying a word. We assume she was new, neither of us have experienced a waitress start grabbing food & other items from the table and surely not items I’m holding still. Hopefully she gets some training and learns to ask people if they’re done before doing this to others. My gf didn’t want the waitress grabbing her food for her without asking.

The tasting menu is a formal event where Chef Alex serves a predetermined menu of several courses and dessert for a set price of $130 (before tax and tip). Drinks were not included, but wine and beer were available for purchase. The courses were interesting and beautifully presented. The dinner lasted 3 hours. With each course, Alex explained what he had prepared and how each dish was cooked. The appetizers were fabulous. Everyone at our table loved the scallops, goat cheese soufflé, and cherry tomato soup. Our opinions became mixed with the third course. The salmon cake was a little dry for a few of us, and the meat dishes were cold when they were served. The plates were not warmed. For this type of event and the price, I would have expected the food to be delivered hot. Both the duck and lamb in addition to being cold were tough but presented well. For this event, complete strangers will be seated together. Luckily for us, our tablemates were interesting and entertaining. Overall, I enjoyed the event and service was excellent, but going forward, I’d rather spend the money on a romantic dinner with only my husband at a high-end restaurant ordering just a few dishes.

Fantastic breakfast with a cozy, warm and homey environment. Omelette was buttery and full of flavor. Two eggs and sausage with home fries more than satisfying and avocado toast was fresh and delicious. Try the biscuits with huckleberry jam and you’ll need another right away. Can’t wait to come back and try lunch or dinner.

Jayden was our server and the service was exceptional! Yes, the prime rib was excellent, and that’s from a line cook who worked in multiple restaurants where we served prime rib. I’ve also been a server in many restaurants, and I know the steps of service. And I’m telling you, the service was on point! The food was great, and the service was phenomenal! It’s absolutely worth it! If you’re on the fence about eating here, get off the fence and go. You’ll thank yourself after.

A local hangout for good food and light groceries. Service was excellent. Lots of items on the menu. The cheeseburger wasn’t overcooked, was juicy and delicious. The fries and sweet potato fries were both crispy and good. Fun place to visit!

Phenomenal sandwiches! We enjoyed the Prime Rib Special, Chicken Club on Sourdough, and Fish tacos. The Club sandwich had Granny Smith apples nestled in melted cheese, mmm! My husband didn’t even want to share the prime rib sandwich because he liked it so much! (I still managed to get a bite). Would order all of it again and so glad to have discovered this charming spot!! Simple, relaxed, down home vibe yet some seriously up-scale tasting food. I love being able to find that combo. Friendly staff, and some great options for sale like beer, wine, soaps, shirts, Mac n cheese, casseroles, and desserts. My only critique would be to steer clear of the machine lattes, just stick with black coffee and get your espresso at a coffee shop. Did not detract from a fantastic lunch though!

Quaint with comfortable atmosphere. All the meal selections at our table of 5 were fantastic. Will be fun to come back in slightly warmer weather and sit outside by the river 🙂

Luckily we had a local tour guide (a friend) who is in the food industry and he said we HAD to go here for breakfast! Got some pork belly Bennie which was solid but the pancakes stole the show….and the table. They were huge and delicious. Top 3 pancakes I’ve had. Highly recommend this spot!
