The food looked and tasted really good. We paid for premium but it all came in plastic. I was disappointed that premium was just plastic but the food was still great but the atmosphere was not. Spicy soup and live dungness crab tasted and looked great though I felt sorry for the crab . Quite a bit of noise with the mallets cracking the crab. I really liked to see the catfish and lobster. Really comfortable place and great food.

Although it was Independence Day, the atmosphere was quite calm. The restaurant had large windows that offered a view of the beachfront, where many people were enjoying their time. It was a great place to relax, with plenty of seating and a leisurely vibe.

Service and language barrier is probably the real issue here. Menu and prices are a bit confusing as well. My mom loved this place, so I ordered the spicy fish stew to go and really enjoyed it. Was about $65 with tip for the large. I really wanted a spicy crab stew I tried here years ago with my mom, but they either don’t make it anymore or don’t want to. The fish stew was great, but if they put a crab in there, it would have been bomb. They do have live crab, so……maybe it was too expensive? One crab did cost about $65 here, which seemed steep, but probably would have paid the $130 total if they added the crab. The menu is limited, but the stew was amazing and large was enough for 6 people, so not a bad deal, even if they added the crab and was $130 total. Maybe next time with a small group. The sunset alone was worth the visit!

The most infuriating meal I’ve ever had in my life. As someone who has traveled the world, I know what I’m talking about.

First, when ordering, you have no idea if the lobster and crab are fresh, how much they weigh, or what the price per pound is. The Korean owner simply decides the price on the spot. Then, despite providing no service whatsoever—making you eat off paper plates with disposable utensils—she still demands at least a 15% service charge.

For three adults and one child, we were forced to pay $70 in tips! I wasn’t willing, but the Korean owner literally held a calculator in one hand and grabbed my arm with the other, refusing to let me leave until I paid. She didn’t even provide a proper receipt—just a handwritten note.

Tax evasion alert!

It was a really nice meal and service. We had fish stew and large steamed shrimp and they were very generous portions. The dangeness crab looked amaizing we definitely we will back to try it!

Early April & the dungness crabs were around $60ea. Grub is always good because they cook em live.

It’s an L.A. classic. I think there are very few people that don’t know about this place. Maybe not eaten here but seen it because it’s right on the old pier.
It’s asian biased menu but I see many non-asians dining also.
I have forty some years of fond memories at this place. Steamed crabs were as good as always. Haven’t been here in more than 13 years… Good stuff.

This resto is located right in the center of Redondo beach pier. It took a while for the food to get delivered but we had the freshest and most delicious steamed manila clams. The seafood kimchi stew was to die for. We’ll definitely go back next time.

no better place for crab than here. chef’s kiss. dipping crab meat into the gochujang sauce and then mixing rice into the shell is absolutely incomparable to any other crab restaurant.

If you want seafood (live or cooked), this is the place to go. The food is market price and freshly caught. The staff don’t keep bothering you after serving you with silly questions like “how’s your food?” It’s dead and being eaten that’s what. I definitely recommend it for visitors and anyone who wants the Korean dining experience.
