Pace has been serving up locally farmed all organic Italian / Californian delectables for 26 yrs and counting. Nestled in the basement of a 130 yrs old building situated in the middle of Laurel Canyon, Pace offers a unique LA dining experience and hopefully fond memories. Grazie Tutti!
Cozy, romantic Italian eatery whose pizzas & pastas feature locally sourced & organic ingredients.

We dined at Pace for my fiancé’s birthday. We arrived and were briefly sat on the patio all the way in the back last table. We thought it was fine until we realized that no one could see us and we couldn’t call any servers. After we were sat we read our menus for a full 20 mins before anyone came back to get our order. We ordered drinks and food together as we were worried if we didn’t order everything we would be waiting even more.
The rest of the evening went better but service just wasn’t all that great.
Food was good. Nothing mind blowing. Good portion, clams were great, raviolis nicely packed with lobster. But just missing depth of flavors I think. Presentation of the raviolis could be nicer…
I noted on the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Was excited to see the people sat next to us got a candle for their birthday. My fiance pointed out how cute it was that they were also celebrating a birthday. We ordered the chocolate cake – didn’t come with a candle so felt a little awkward… but it tasted very good.
Not dying to come back tbh, for all of the above reasons. Checked it off our list after having been there for quite some time.

Tastes just like Italy! Best gluten free pasta I’ve ever had. Full stop. They actually import it from Italy, so that explains the perfection of flavor! And the al dente texture, they mastered. Sauces made fresh daily. Very cozy vibes. And the cutest placemat drawings from over the years is displayed on the walls as artwork – clearly LA is full of artists because the pencil crayon sketches are incredible. I first came here on a rainy night and the ambiance couldn’t have been more perfect. Surprise jazz band performance too! Parking in the area is very hard, but they do have valet. All the times I’ve driven through Laurel Canyon and never knew this gem of a restaurant was there underneath the historic convenient store. This building has such a special energy that reflects the moments of history when Los Angeles was at its peak.

A bit of a mixed bag. Our appetizers were great – fresh, pillowy focaccia, a deliciously balanced beet salad, and hearty minestrone soup. We all ordered pastas as our mains – the arrabiata, tortellini, and tagliatelle – and were slightly disappointed. Good portion sizes, but nothing special and a bit under-salted. Really fun vibe and atmosphere but likely will not be coming back for the food alone.

I’ve been going to Pace since 2000 and It’s truly remarkable how flawless their consistency is. I’ve never had anything but an excellent meal there. The space is as warm and romantic as ever and the service is excellent, however it has never been better than it was when I was there last Tuesday. Allison is the best front of house I’ve encountered at any restaurant in LA. Everything was great that night, but she was the standout. We had a big party and she was the talk of everyone in my group as we waited for our cars at the valet. To me, great service is the most important quality at any restaurant, and it deserves a special mention here.

Highly recommend, this is a hidden gem in LA. Best upscale but not stuffy organic Italian / farm to table restaurant in Los Angeles. The ambience and energy is the best I have seen in LA, dim lights , candles on tables and an attentive staff. Maybe I should say farmers market to table as the chef/owner gets ingredients from farmers markets twice a week. Hard to describe their food , maybe Italian country comfort food that is healthy. They make their pasta in house as well and you can tell each dish is made with a lot of love.
What to eat?! Going to have to go back to try their home made ravioli with lobster and squash or lasagna or their cedar plank wild salmon dish and they have daily specials as well. The menu looks so good it’s hard to decide what to order so my mom and I split the minestrone soup and The Peace Pie which is their version of a margherita pizza and both were really tasty and perfectly seasoned. We also got the cedar plank roasted and grilled chicken , this dish is next level and it came with 2 sides, I got the asparagus and roasted root veggies, once again very tasty and perfectly seasoned. We also got the spaghetti bolognese and the waiter shaved some fresh Parmesan on it. Love the attention to detail and this dish was also great, although it could have used a little more sauce. We finished the meal with their warm chocolate cake that was so soft and moist and really perfect with fresh berries and vanilla gelato. Highly recommend this place and will be going back again.
I often eat at their sister restaurant called Pace Joint on sunset, it is more of a no frills casual spot but the food is great there also and make sure to check out the outdoor back patio.

My husband took me on a date here and we weren’t disappointed! Starting with sweet, caring hostess Camille that was so nice to us and helped us to choose the best table and was so considerate of our needs, continuing with an amazing servers Rafi and Lola that helped my husband to choose vegan meal and were very attentive and sweet explaining the dishes and helping us make our choice, that’s already created very good mood for the evening but nice atmosphere and good music just tied it all together! We would definitely be back!
Oh and the option to draw was so sweet:)

I’ll be back to Pace hopefully sooner than later. The melon prosciutto salad was amazing and so was the roasted red pepper soup I had. Not to mention the richest tiramisu I’ve ever had. Valet parking and friendly staff made this Laurel Canyon staple a place I’d bring (or meet) my future husband.
