OMG! The food was sooo good here! Def coming back. I did a random google search and this place came up, I’m so glad it did. It’s not the most appealing from the curbside but boy does it live up to its name. It’s a cozy spot, filled with character and to me, is not your modern esthetic… it gives a more authentic feel. I was pleased and I’m a tough critic usually, I leave reviews when I’m either REALLY pleased or all the way NOT! This place I approve of ♥️

This is my favorite neighborhood Italian spot. Definitely a local hangout and I just love walking through Lincoln Park to get to dinner. The pasta is handmade and divine, the specials are always mind blowing and the pizza is above average. The service always amazes and they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The carbonara is our family favorite.

This was my first time to DC and I can say this place set the bar high for food I will be looking for in future visits to the city. I love chicken piccata but it wasn’t on the menu, they were able to make it for me anyways! My girlfriend had the salmon special and it was hands down the biggest piece of fish I have seen served at a restaurant. Along with the great food, the restaurant has a very warm and comfortable feel almost like you are having a home cooked meal. Highly recommend!

Above average Italian spot, we had very basic food so we are planning on coming back to try other food options. For apps we ordered the mozz sticks and octopus. Mozz sticks weren’t as warm as one would expect as well as the marinara sauce. The octopus was great.
I got the carbonara, it was good but seemed to resemble more of an Alfredo sauce with bacon bits on top. I love Alfredo so it tasted great, just didn’t seem to align with what a carbonara should be.
My partner got a pasta with garlic sauce and shrimp, also tasted almost identical to the carbonara/alfredo sauce.
Next time we want to try their red sauces to compare, maybe they do a better job there. We saw a lot of people got the pizzas, they looked very good!
We also got the cannolis, these were delicious!

Service – everyone was very friendly, no complaints here. Host was welcoming, servers were timely and communicative.

Atmosphere – cute, small spot but was cold. We were on the first floor and it’s freezing outside so any time the door opened it would bring in all of the cold inside (maybe that’s why my mozz sticks were cold?). Has a bar and seemed to get busy. I did not go upstairs so unsure what it looked like.

Overall I recommend people try it just don’t expect it to be your favorite Italian spot.

Best best 6-star Italian restaurant!
Still dreaming about that tomato bread — forgot what it’s called but it was juicy, fresh, and packed with flavour. Can’t forget my first bite!!

The Margherita pizza was perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and so well balanced.
Tiramisu? Absolutely wonderful—not too sweet, just how I like it.
And the pasta in Marsala wine sauce? Wow. Rich, comforting, and full of depth.
Can’t wait to go back!

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
Starting from the appetizer to entrees, every bite was better than the one prior. I loved the Wild Boar Pasta, the pizza Capricciosa (+Neapolitan salami), the calamari…well, all of them. The service was great as well, friendly and attentive staff. This restaurant will exceed your expectations and your taste buds will thank you.

We have been at this cozy place twice now. Both times it was an enjoyable experience. Food felt like very authetic Italian. The eggplant appetizer was out of this world. Pastas were great. Portions were good. Wonderful place

This is a great little neighborhood restaurant. Perfect location to walk to for anyone in the area. Four of us went and got pasta and pizza. The pasta is great, the pizza is just okay, so I would recommend getting pasta.

The service was good and pretty quick.

It was mostly full on a Friday night so you should get reservations to make sure you get a table.
