I have been coming to PV Palace for many years. I got specifically for the Dim Sum. The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. The service is not the best. Those are the pluses.
The minus is the carpets are filthy and need to be cleaned. The restrooms well. It always scares me to think if a restaurant is willing to let their carpets and restrooms be this filthy in plain view of their customers. What it looks like behind the doors in the kitchen.

That said, I still go there to eat regularly.

This place is great! Lunch time hours is the best they come around with a cart full of food that you can just pick and take some to have. Portions are very large and filling and rates are very reasonable. I like the walnut shrimp plate as well as the sea food soup
Dinner time gets crowded but still reasonable,

Peking Duck was crispy but did not include the meat. I did the duck serving small.

The Har Gao and Sio Mai were very good and tasty! I haven’t eaten those in a long time!

The beef with curry was tender. Since I like spicy food, I wished they made it even spicier!

Our server was friendly and provided good service. He even made some jokes. It’s not that often you see a server making jokes especially in a Chinese restaurant!

When I’m visiting home from my work overseas (in Taipei), this is where my mom’s best friend likes to treat me for lunch and I really appreciate it. The food is more Cantonese-style than any other (and certainly not Taiwanese) and it includes all the staples, like turnip cakes, rice porridge, and so on along with dim sum regulars and larger fare like beef noodles. Seating is family style with a lazy susan as you’d expect.

We arrived at PV palace seafood 10 minutes early to beat the crowd on a Father’s day. Oh we beat the crowd alright. We also beat the chef too. They only have standard dim sum fare served between 10 and 11: har gow, steamed rice cake with shrimp, siu mai, baked bows, really oily vegetable egg rolls….We have a sneaky feeling that the standard fare are being resteamed to serve the customers who are early.

When we asked the manager for the salt and pepper shrimp, he told us that the chef does not come in until 11am!!!! Then why open at 10 am if you don’t have enough dim sum dishes to offer to the customers? We had a craving for squid but were not about to wait until 11 for it.

As far as service is concerned, my little boy needed a fork. We asked the manager for one as he was passing by our table. He barely mumbled “a second” without even stopping at our table. How rude is that? Anyhow, 5 minutes gone by and still no fork. We decided to flag down a waiter for one and we got it.

Overall, not sure if we are coming back any time soon. The food, from what were available to us, is passable and the service is not even on the chart! The waiter there can give one of the managers a lesson in customer service.

Paid 40 for a plate of crab. Menu said 12.95, got charged 39.95. Crab was still in shell shell was not pre cracked. Came with no utensil to crack shell. Once I wrestled a few legs open (crab was small & worth 9.95 at sizler or R.Lobster) the meat inside was dry AF! Shrunken & tasteless. This means it was SUPPER over cooked. As well as poor quality.

This is a Great place for Dim-Sum in the South Bay! They’ve always got a really good selection of Dim-Sum to choose from, weekdays or weekends. I’ve been going to P.V. Palace for Dim-Sum for almost 5 years now, that should say it all!!!

Crowded dim sum. Was an ok experience. Food was fairly standard similar to Sea Empress in Gardena but Sea Empress is the better.
