I went back inside and asked where the Cilantro, lime and onions were and the lady informed me they don’t hand out lime and she said she can see cilantro and cheese on the taco and would go add the onion and more cilantro. She carried my tacos back to the kitchen and came back to inform me they were out of onion unless I want red onion. I declined and told her she should have let me know at the time I placed my order. I will not be back.
I am attaching a photo of my tacos as well as the advertised picture of Carne Asada Tacos. This is not the same.
Take pride in whatever you do and it doesn’t go unnoticed. If the cook and the server think this is acceptable, they should serve that to their family.
I don’t go out to eat often so when I do, I expect to enjoy my food and this was a total let down. Taco Bell would have been better than my lunch today.
Will I return? Maybe not. Queso is my favorite and this didn’t do it for me. Spent approx. $20, no drink ordered.
=Food=
The food itself was decent overall I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5. I tried two tacos: the Al Pastor and the Chorizo. Both were well-seasoned and flavorful. I’d rate each a 4/5. Pricing, however, felt a tad on the steep side for what you get, but not crazy expensive. Tacos ranged from $5 to $6 apiece, and while they were standard street taco size, the value didn’t quite match the price point.
The salsa, unfortunately, was a miss for me. It was watery, sweet, and lacked any heat, definitely not what you’d expect from a traditional chips-and-salsa setup at a Mexican restaurant. While it wasn’t offensively sweet, it felt like sugar was added to compensate for a lack of spice or depth. If you prefer mild or sweet salsas, you might enjoy it, but for me, it was a 1 out of 5.
=Menu and Ordering Experience=
The menu design was visually creative, but also hard to navigate. Styled backgrounds and vertical text made it a bit difficult to read. That said, I understand not everyone may share the same reading difficulty, so this may not be an issue for all diners.
More importantly, the menu organization was confusing. There’s a build-your-own taco section, but underneath it, in the street taco area birria was listed at around $12 versus $5–6 like the others. I initially thought it was a mistake, but the server explained that it include three tacos, which made sense once clarified. She also mentioned they’re currently working on reorganizing the menu to make it clearer, which I can appreciated, especially from a newly opened restaurant. However, this is possibly a franchise as they were advertising franchise opportunities on the menu so you would think the menu would have been correct to start with.
I was a bit disappointed that I wasn’t allowed to select a single birria taco as part of the build-your-own option. From a kitchen operations standpoint, that seemed like an odd limitation, especially considering the price breakdown was similar to the other tacos. That small detail left me feeling a bit boxed in when ordering in a way that sounded like you can choose any type of taco from the list.
=Atmosphere and Decor=
The decor was minimal and underwhelming. The space felt a little sterile, with tall ceilings, large empty walls, and an echo in the room. Seating was okay I sat in a booth-style setup along the wall that was decently comfortable, but not particularly inviting. The layout was tight, and I could see it feeling crowded if the restaurant were full, though it was quiet during our visit (around 6pm on a Thursday).
=Service=
Service was excellent. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made a sincere effort to ensure we were having a good experience. She explained the menu quirks and was very accommodating. I’d give her a 5 out of 5.
I also noticed the cook walking through the dining room a few times, he didn’t stop at our table, but he had a warm demeanor and a big smile that gave me confidence in the team working behind the scenes. The entire restaurant was very clean, which is always appreciated.
=Final Thoughts=
While there are some clear areas for improvement especially in terms of menu layout, pricing transparency, and ambiance there’s also potential here. The food was generally good, and the service was excellent. With some fine-tuning, I could see this spot becoming a worthwhile regular stop. For now, I’d rate it a 3 out of 5 an okay experience, with room to grow.
She was super sweet and very helpful with local information bout fun things tlike do!
