I was visiting Tulsa with my wife for a horse show at the expo center and a family friend who is from Tulsa , Michelle I. ,Told me about her childhood friend who owns this restaurant off the main drag .Well worth finding this great Jem . Jan and staff were wonderful people . The home made potato salad took me back in time to Moms recipie and chicken salad made for a great lunch . The atmosphere was very inviting . I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a place o that is not a chain .The bill was very fair

I’ve been meaning to visit this place for some time, but during the week it’s usually difficult to make the time to get there. As I was off for my birthday this week, I decided to treat myself to P.J.s for lunch. Best decision! I didn’t catch her name, (perhaps Jan?) was so immediately welcoming, and after noticing I had trouble picking between the egg salad sandwhich and bacon, avocado and cream cheese (my pick) she also packed me a little bit of egg salad to try. My sandwich was delicious from the very first to the last bite; simple, but every ingredient was fresh and worked great together. The egg salad was also great! The sweet pickles were unexpected but so yummy in the egg salad! Very fair prices. She was also kind enough to send me home with a free cookie as well. I will definitely be back when I have the chance to!

If you’re looking for that small “hole in the wall” sandwich shop, THIS IS IT! I came to Tulsa for the shootout and came to this place twice just because how good the good is.

I also couldn’t be happier about the service and atmosphere. The ladies running the place are sweeter than your kindest Aunt and the place is serenly peaceful.

My only complaint, wish they were open more often but like they say, the best things come in moderation

Update:
This visit, my wife had the turkey sandwich and the potato salad. Simple Delicious. I tried PJ’s version of a Cobb Salad. Different and disappointing. An odd combination of ingredients. Stick with the sandwiches. Although the quaint, but dated little shop has been diners favorite for years, PJ’s may be due for a refresh of the menu.

The P.J.’S Sandwich Shop couldn’t be in a more fitting location. It is well hidden. Inconspicuously tucked in the corner of a small suite of shops, and quite fittingly next to an antique store. Its setting adds to the ambiance. When you enter, the decor is noticeably reminiscent of little old ladies tea room. But it is not. It is well-established and well recognized for being one of Tulsa’s customer pleasing sandwich shops. Proof of the years of love and recognition hang on the walls.
P. J.’S is a sandwich shop, as in “sliced bread” sandwiches, not sub style. Don’t let that lower your expectations. The sandwiches are fabulous. Somewhat like your grandmother might make, but much better. P.J.’S has the appropriate accompaniments for your sandwich: Cole slaw, potato salad, pasta salad, or chips. Their menu expands to meal salads, soups, chili. and you can do combinations of those offerings. Also, cookies and brownies!
I had the Club which is advertised as P.J.’S largest sandwich. A triple stack of bread with ham, turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo. There was no scrimping on the bacon. Chips for the side. Excellent sandwich. My wife went with the Chicken Club. Sliced, mesquite grilled, chicken breast with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo. Another very good sandwich!
This is a rare, exemplary, little shop that has a dedicated following. Great friendly service, with a cozy neighborhood feel.
Bonus! Pay with cash and you get a free cookie!!!! P.J.’S does take credit cards but, “No Cookie for You!”

If I can’t decide what to eat, I always go to PJs for my default bc it’s so good and I know I’ll be happy with my meal every time. The Triple Hitter is my FAV!
They are also really kind, which is kinda rare in the current-day industry.

Made an on the fly decision to stop at PJ’s while traveling thru Tulsa. Best decision we’ve made a long time. Both staff and customers are friendly & knowledgeable. Before our waitress even got to our table other customers were giving recommendations to try. I had The Drip which was the best roast beef sandwich of my life. My husband had a chicken salad sandwich which he said was amazing as was the potato salad. The lemon iced sugar cookies were a great end to our meal.

Such a cozy place. Everyone is so friendly and chatty. They ensure your time here is perfect and it always is. The food is the best and the sweet pickles are always amazing even though I typically don’t care for sweet pickles.

Someone really put their soul into this menu. I’m not a sweet pickle person but these pickles, paired with the smoked ham& pineapple sandwich, the chips, the pink lemonade, and the best strawberry cupcake I’ve ever had in my life- PERFECTION. Felt like that moment in Ratatouille when Remy closes his eyes and sees all the colors swirling together. I’ve never experienced such an intense yet balanced variety of flavors. *chef’s kiss* did not expect, will order again!
