P.F. Chang’s on the Country Club Plaza has long been a familiar and comforting favorite for us in Kansas City. Located on the corner of 47th Street, this spot has been a Plaza staple since the early 2000s, and over the years we have returned time and again, especially for their famous lettuce wraps, which never seem to go out of style. Our most recent visit was a spontaneous date night while enjoying the holiday sights around the Plaza, and while the food still delivered, the overall experience felt noticeably different from our usual visits.
We arrived on a Tuesday evening around 7 pm without a reservation and were seated quickly at a high top near the bar, which was perfect for avoiding a wait. Unfortunately, from there the evening felt a bit off. The server, who also appeared to be bartending, seemed overwhelmed, and service was slower than expected even as the dining room gradually emptied. We ordered our longtime favorite lettuce wraps, along with spicy Chang’s Chicken and egg drop soup. The lettuce wraps came out fairly quickly and were just as flavorful and satisfying as always, but after the entrees arrived, we realized the soup was missing and had to ask about it. When it finally arrived, it was served in a plastic bowl with a plastic spoon, with the explanation that they had run out of dishes, which was surprising for a restaurant of this caliber.
That said, we were not in a rush and did not mind the relaxed pace, even if it felt very different from what we were used to here. The food was fresh, hot, and delicious, and we even ended the night with a wonderful dessert. While this visit did not quite match the smooth service we have enjoyed in the past, P.F. Chang’s still delivered where it matters most, and we look forward to returning again.

Fantastic meal from start to finish. The lettuce wraps were crisp and flavorful, the fried rice had that perfect wok aroma, and the Black pepper Chicken was seasoned beautifully — crunchy outside, tender inside. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. Highly recommend deserts aswell.

PF Chang’s is a standard Chinese restaurant. They’ve got some good lunch-time specials. Atmosphere and service; good. Food; it’s okay. Parking; prepare yourself to do some walking if you don’t get something close to the restaurant.
When I go again? I guess if I was in the neighborhood and had a taste for some Chinese food probably so. Now, they’re hot and sour soup was very good!

Chrystal was a great server!! She was super quick and efficient but also checked on us and made sure we were taken care of. We came with our two young kids so we appreciated the swiftness would definitely come again! ❤️

Started with various appetizers. The chicken lettuce wraps, pork egg rolls and crab wontons. And we rated them in that order. The dipping sauce for the egg rolls was delicious!! The 4 of us each ordered a different chicken entree with fried rice. All were very good! The black pepper chicken was VERY good. The menu says it’s spicy but we didn’t think so. We thought it was pretty mild. If you like Espresso Martinis…I HIGHLY recommend theirs!!!

Day 1: Sat at the bar and had a great experience. The bartender was attentive and got my order just right — egg drop soup, shrimp dumplings, and salmon with gluten-free fried rice and broccoli. Everything was fresh and flavorful.
Day 2: Dined at a table, and unfortunately, my order wasn’t quite right. A bit disappointing, but I’d like to believe it was just an off day.
Still, overall a solid spot, especially when everything clicks. Would go back!

PF Changs is always so good. It’s high quality food and experience. The staff is always so on top of things. You get your food fast. It is pricey but so delicious.

Came today for my girlfriend’s birthday, and Jackson was our server for the night. His service was outstanding and would be recommended for anyone who comes and dine at the restaurant. He was very diligent with orders, made sure they came out in a timely manner. Talked and conversed with him, having a good conversation and banter. Overall, just very kind and nice, great service and made the experience very well.

We had a party of 7 for Easter. Todd was our server. I don’t have enough adjectives to describe how amazing Todd made our experience. Everything we ordered was delicious and again Todd made the experience outstanding! Thank you Todd!!
Update: We went for Father’s Day and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The exceptions were the egg rolls and spring rolls, neither were very good and very dry. We asked for sauce and unfortunately didn’t receive it. The eggplant was delicious as were all of our entrees. Our original server came back and provided excellent service.
We’ve been eating at PF Changs around the country for years. It’s usually very good. Tonight not so much. The hot and sour soup was neither hot or sour. I ordered broccoli in brown sauce, it wasn’t hot and had little flavor. I brought it home so it could be seasoned and hot when I eat it. My husband ordered sweet and sour chicken he said the breading was mushy. When we told our server he said you should have let me know and I would have had another one made. Well we couldn’t tell him because we didn’t see him after he served our food. The kids meal was a good value, $5 for fried rice, fruit, broccoli and a drink. The baby seemed to enjoy the rice. My son said the Mongolian beef was good. Overall not the best service or experience.

I’m usually a fan of the P.F. Chang’s chain, but this location was definitely disappointing.
Specifically, the fried rice had a bad smell, and even the Kung Pao chicken had an unpleasant odor. While the food was served hot, the ingredients seemed low quality—like old chicken and possibly expired eggs.
