Ozzy’s Apizza at East Rock Market – Respect Served by the Slice
Second visit to Ozzy’s, this time rolling in with the Slice Mob, and it only confirmed what I already knew, Lou’s the real deal. No gimmicks, no shortcuts, just respect paid the New Haven way: through damn good pizza.
Ozzy’s lives inside the East Rock Market, a cool, community-driven space full of local spots; coffee, food, good energy everywhere. It’s laid-back, social, and exactly where you want to be when great pizza hits the table.
We started with the buffalo chicken, built on Lou’s housemade sauce, bold, tangy, perfectly balanced. Then came the half-sauce, half-mozz pie: simple, honest, and flawlessly executed. Bright tomato, creamy mozz, and that two-day fermented crust with the perfect chew and char.
This round, we also went big with The Swanson, a carnivore lover’s dream stacked with flavor, and The Gene Parmigian, a chicken cutlet lover’s fantasy, crispy, cheesy, and pure comfort.
Lou doesn’t need to talk up his food, it speaks for him. Each pie is proud, passionate, and crafted with heart.

We came here because the wait at Sally’s was over an hour. The pizza is great! We ordered 4 pies and the toppings were all fresh and delicious, no canned mushrooms like some other places. Loved the thin crust and sauce too! Next time I will ask for a light bake, but if you like the New Haven charred crust they do it really well. Staff were super friendly and helpful too!

I’ve lived in New Haven for over a decade, and Ozzy’s made me fall in love with New Haven pizza all over again. By the time you’re a bite in, you’ll be checking the box just to remind yourself what you ordered because the pizza is that good.
I love that all their specialty pies are fun and themed. every one I’ve tried has been a 10/10. It’s also super cute that they write your name and the pizza you ordered right on the side of the box. And the mascot? Adorable. I kind of want one for myself

This is my new favorite pizza spot. Great prices and even better pizza. The cheese pizza is probably the most flavorful cheese pizza around (thanks to their killer sauce) and the pepperoni, bacon and garlic was just phenomenal. They only do 14” pies (think medium sized) and it’s only $15 for a cheese or a 10” personal pies Monday through Friday during lunch hours. Great service, great ingredients and cooked to perfection. Can’t say enough good things about it and they have a ton of specials I’m looking forward to trying like the Gene Parmesan. I only wish they were closer to where I live so I could get them more often.

Big round of applause and a huge thanks to Louie and Ben at Ozzys for saving our College Football watch party. Me and my dad were racing home from Providence in time to catch the CFP final. Halfway home, we realized we forgot the food. We were in New Haven. One name came to mind. Ozzy’s Apizza. I had heard about it online the other day. We called at 7:45 while being 10 minutes away— not knowing it closed at 8. We ordered 3 pies. Once we arrived, Ben and Louie met us with 3 pies. Stacked. Ready to go. They gave us plates, napkins , forks, and knives too. Louie and Ben even convinced us to buy Foxon Park drinks, a great local soda. We raced back home, got home just in time, and everyone was excited to finally try Ozzy’s Apizza, and all agreed that Louie and Ben make a great pie. Next time that you are in New Haven, ask for Louie and Ben at Ozzy’s’ Apizza, the best pizza in New Haven you haven’t tried yet.

If you love thin crust brick oven pizza without it being excessively charred definitely go here. Sauce is good and so is the cheese! We added Mike’s Hot Honey it was a bit overwhelming for us but we should have specified just a drizzle! But we will definitely come back. Staff was nice, they could have been a little more friendly but everyone doesn’t have an explosive personality.

Just tried Ozzy’s for the first time after not wanting to wait in line for Modern or Sally’s. Pizza was extremely good. The buffalo chicken pizza was the best buffalo chicken pizza i’ve ever had. The staff was also super nice. Could recommend this place more! Will definitely be back.
