I’m so excited that SLC finally have Izakaya. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The server was nice. They have quite a variety of dishes in their menu but the yakitori options are still a bit lacking. My friend has never been to Izakaya before so she got to try it here and she likes it. Overall, I would say that for SLC, this place has good foods. We ordered a bunch of yakitori, kushikatsu, gyoza, okonomiyaki, and a roll. The food came out quick and we enjoyed everything. My favorite was pork kushikatsu. The food price is a bit high for the portion but for the quality I got, I wouldn’t complain. I also ordered 2 cocktails and all were good and pretty. There are still a few dishes I want to try so I will definitely be back again. For Japanese or those who has been to Izakaya, I would have to say that this place might not be of the same quality as authentic restaurants in Japan or those restaurants in big cities that will cost you several hundred dollars. As for people who crave for good foods in town, you will probably like it here.

Our Sunday lunch at Ozora was next level! I ordered one of the sushi lunch sets that came with some incredible pieces of nigiri and sashimi. The set itself was beautifully presented, and the fish tasted fresh and was perfectly textured– not mushy like lots of other places I’ve tried in Salt Lake. Also, the set I ordered came with fresh wasabi by default which was a very pleasant surprise! Next to Takashi, the nigiri/sashimi I had here was the best I’ve had in the valley. I also really enjoyed the few pieces of tempura I tried! I’m kicking myself for not coming in earlier because the quality here is seriously next level. While I have only visited once, next time I am in town I’ll certainly be back to try some more nigiri as well as their other dishes. Also, they had Koshihikari Echigo Beer which was a huge plus– always nice when you can order Japanese beer that was actually brewed in Japan 🙂

Seafood pancake was different..good taste. But the texture was kind soft mushy.
I got a chicken dish I can’t remember the name. It’s like orange chicken. I wish it was more crisp and not so sweet and salty. But the rice definitely helps with that. The sushi was great. The service was great. I definitely want to go back.

Apparently they don’t take reservations, but we had 12 people so they made an exception. We went on Valentine’s Day and so the service was slow, but overall the food was delicious. We loved the toro hand roll, yakisoba, katsudon, agedashi tofu, ramen, and all the skewers were well flavored. We were stuffed at the end of the meal. And they also served cocktails and sake, which were pretty good!

Really surprised this place only has 4.4 rating, best sushi I have had in SLC. Better than Sapa, Mint, Itto imo…
Great atmosphere, lots of options, super fresh and not a bunch of Americanized rolls with imitation crab/ shrimp and cream cheese in every roll REAL FISH YALL
I know my sushi and this spot is the real deal. Came on a weeknight and was super chill and fast service. Def one to try!

I visited this place a handful of times so far and never a bad service. Somehow I never had to wait to get seated, unlike many other restaurants. The food is amazing. The pictures are from a family outing. We ordered a bit of everything. Great newish Japanese restaurant with cool vibe and awesome food. (I used to go to Kobe a lot but the wait there is always over an hour. Same time, this place seats you right away).

This is a fantastic Japanese restaurant that never disappoints. The sushi is always fresh and meticulously prepared. I particularly enjoyed the pork belly, asparagus bacon, and chicken thigh yakitori. Each dish was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.
The service is consistently excellent. Highly recommended for an authentic Japanese dining experience.

Best Japanese restaurant in SLC. 9 visits to Hokkaido and this is the place that most reminds me of eating in Japan. All the fish has been fresh and delicious, the karaage is great. Incredible cocktails and a good selection of sake. This place is better than your favorite spot, give it a try.
