This restaurant opened in Aspen Park/Conifer a couple or so years ago. My wife went there with a visiting relative back in June 2025. They just had sushi and absolutely enjoyed it. She and I went here in August and she enjoyed it again and this was my first time.

The inside is bigger than it appears outside. There are booths and tables and it was pleasantly decorated. Their main offerings center around sushi and sashimi and various kinds of rolls, but for non-sushi patrons there are other dishes including ramens, Bento boxes, fried rice, noodles, teriyaki, and Katsu. They do offer alcohol on the premises too. If you are not fond of or skilled with chop sticks, yes, you can get a fork.

For an appetizer we had the vegetable egg rolls (comes with two) which come with a sweet sauce and enjoyed those. We only had water with our meal.

My wife had the vegetable tempura dinner entree (note: lunch ends at 2:30 p.m.) and she said for her it was enough food that she felt she should have brought some home.

I initially thought of having the chicken teriyaki, but was told it has dark meat for which I am not a fan, so I opted for the beef teriyaki instead. It was a generous portion, both tender and flavorful.

Both of our dinner entrees came with a salad, miso soup, and rice. The salad seemed to have a tasty ginger vinaigrette-type of dressing and we very much enjoyed the soup. Since we were both pleasantly full we did not try any of the desserts on this visit.

This is a very welcome option in the Aspen Park/Conifer area of Colorado. We plan to visit again soon!

Used to go here pretty often when they first opened up, but then got a bad piece of fish and took a hiatus. Looked at the menu online today and called to order two rolls. When she told the total it was 50% more than the listed prices online. I told her that’s ridiculous and they should update it, but proceeded to place my order. Got home and one of the rolls that contains mango has such under ripe fruit I literally can’t bite through it. When I called and told them that the mango is inedible they told me “that’s just how we do it”. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this roll offering here, and it certainly isn’t the first time I’ve had mango in sushi. This is absolutely not how it should be served, and their lack of accountability is insane. They offered no reimbursement, refund, or compensation. I’ll be throwing this roll in the trash and back charging on my Amex. Pitiful how the few restaurants up here treat their customers.

We’re finding Conifer has a lot to offer including this yummy restaurant. We had sushi and some ramen bowls and they are delicious.
I grabbed the menu to go as it looked like they had a really great takeout system as well and lots of people lining up for takeout.

Sushi is one of the best in Colorado. I love the albacore, yellow tail, and red snapper. Always over order and get funny comments a little judgy from the wait staff but whatever I like eating a lot of sushi and they have the best. Went 6 times in 2 months after trying it the first time. Delicious!

Really enjoyed this place and wish we have had stopped in sooner. The udon noodles are super good. The wife ordered the bento box as did quiet a few other folks in the restaurant I noticed. We also had a chance to try two of their special rolls and both tasted as good as anything I’ve had down the hill. Definitely would recommend if you have a hankering for Japanese fair.

The chashu was absolutely delicious, somehow perfectly tender and crispy! The noodle texture was a little underwhelming but still fine. Broth was a little flat but they will add a side of spicy paste for you to add separately if you want an extra kick. The sushi was great, tasted very fresh, wished the portion size was bigger but the rolls themselves were a good size 🙂

Stopped in for a late lunch on route to Denver. They have Lunch Specials for the weekend! Best salmon skin roll I’ve had all year – in my 3 roll lunch special. My hubby had the Pork Katsu lunch special. Very pleased with the prices, quality and service!

We were going back to denver from Staunton State park after a good hike. We stopped at this small town called Aspen Park and the best Japanese restaurant was our obvious choice. We were glad that we chose this restaurant. The foods were amazing, staffs were friendly and a good ambience to enjoy food with friends and family. Neat and clean tables, restrooms overall they have good ambience. Highly recommend. The tesla charging station is also in the same location.

Terrible experience. The chicken was dried up and not edible. I had to flag someone down because no one had checked on us and when the woman came to my table, she reached over the person next to me and pointed at the pieces of chicken on my plate, practically touching the food and said “only half of it it dried up” Then she told me that if I go to KFC I would likely get dried up chicken also. Well, the atmosphere is not as nice as KFC. I find it strange that you would compare your business to KFC. I told her that I’m not at KFC. There was no apology. She was absolutely rude. Then she said “we can’t guarantee anything so next time order something different.” Not once did they ask how the other food was or attend to us to see if there was anything we needed.

Not a bad place to grab some ramen or some sushi. I’ve been a few times now and it’s never disappointed. Definitely hits the spot for Japanese cuisine. Lucky to have this place up here for the locals to get something different. Just wish there was more seating. The wait can be long but that is expected if the food is really good. Definitely will be going back for more!
