Grubhub has a different rating for this place which was misleading. I got the chicken Katsu with curry. I paid 20 bucks for fried chicken and rice with a side of sauce. The curry had nothing in it, it was literally the sauce. The rice was some shitty short grain variety instead of jasmine. The chicken was small and meh, and it came with nothing else besides those three things. I’m in awe at the terrible quality. And the same business has an overpriced Italian place where they make you boxed food I assume.

Good! I liked the oyako and chicken teriyaki bowls. Right amount of proteins and rice! A little less content with the gyoza.

this is the worst chicken teriyaki I ever had in my life. They sent me a giant bowl of brocolli and carrots and rice with maybe 2 oz of chicken mixed in if that. No sauce no anything. It tastes terrible. You people are going to pay me the 20 dollars I just spent on uber eats one way or another. Avoid this place at all costs !!!!!

Ordered the The Oyako rice bowl, and was HIGHLY disappointed in what I got. It was so dry that I couldn’t even eat it. Oyako is NOT supposed to be dry. I’ve had it countless times and this is the only time I have seen it done so atrociously. The audacity to charge $14.00 for some dry chicken and dry scrambled eggs over plain white rice is outrageous. Oyako is supposed to be moist and the eggs just barely set with a delicious dashi stock poured over the rice that you cook the egg and chicken in. Either the owners don’t care or the people making this food don’t know what actual Japanese food should be like.
This place is a disgrace to Japanese food and should be embarrassed they are serving food of this low quality. Don’t waste your money on this place, there are much better places you go for good homestyle Japanese food.

Was returning from visiting my son in Austin and stopped at my usual take-out area and saw this new Japanese place. Since I recently moved from Dallas to a more rural area that doesn’t have too many selections, I was like a kid in a candy store! Had a hard time deciding since it all looked good. Finally, decision made, it’s the Spicy Wasabi Shrimp and added the Ajitama egg. Super yummy. Will be back!

ordered rice box combo with two entrees (Okaya&Kung Pao Chicken) Panda express got better Kung Pao Chicken than this place’s. The chicken foes not taste fresh, flavor is bland and the meat is dry. Don’t bother with this place.

As others have stated, this place is really not worth the price. There are a ton of options in Austin with better and cheaper dishes similar to Oya Rice Bowl.
I was unsatisfied with what I ordered and would not order again. The quality and preparation of the meat here is nothing to write home about.
Look elsewhere.
