Highly recommend this place.
Came back in town for work stopped for a 2nd time, Again had the Ribeye Steak and was amazing. Service was outstanding as well (Matthew) was extremely attentive and a fantastic server. Highly recommend stopping in .
My husband & I had been traveling for hours & stopped at Oxley House for lunch. Mercedes, our server, was excellent and made an amazing Bloody Mary for me. We will definitely return when we are in the area!
We’ve been dining at Oxley House now for a couple years since their opening (Randolph County locals) and while the quality of food has ridden a roller coaster of ups and the occasional down, I think Oxley is reaching a nice, consistent pace. The dinner selections are always prepared well and you won’t be disappointed.
That is, until I ordered the burger the other night. The burger is a good one — be sure to order the temperature desired — but a burger isn’t just a burger here in the USA. It’s the fries that really make it. Not frozen. No, Oxley’s are tasty and hand-cut! BUT, SAY IT ISN’T SO… a “4oz portion of fries…?” (I thought it was a joke, and should have taken a picture. To give you a visual, the plate looked incomplete, like each member of the kitchen staff snacked on my fries on their way to the table, and a few had to have been lost to the floor, it was that sad.) Apparently, it’s the Manager’s policy. You’ll receive “four ounces of fries,” explained our server, to my look of bewilderment. There’s not even enough fries to pile onto the plate. They had to be spread out to look numerous, which only served to bring them to room temperature quicker.
Well, thank goodness for Brandi and common sense, because after I asked if this was a joke… (my words), she brought me a proper plate of hand-cut, made in house, hot fries like one would expect with this restaurant burger.
Manager, take note: A 4-ounce portion of fries shouldn’t be the first thing I have to worry about when I order your burger. As stated, these fries are great! Why ruin someone’s evening and leave them to think twice before going to Oxley House again?
In short, the burger is a solid choice, but fryer beware.
