The atmosphere is spot-on. Rustic wood. Twinkling lights. A little bit of old-Florida whimsy with modern polish. It’s the kind of place where you instantly relax because the design does all the talking—warm, creative, and buzzing with energy without ever feeling loud or chaotic.
And the food? Outstanding.
The fresh catch of the day is the star. You can taste the difference. My dish came out perfectly cooked—flaky, flavorful, and bright—and you could tell it didn’t spend long out of the water before it hit the kitchen. My wife’s plate was just as impressive. Everything was seasoned right, balanced, and beautifully presented. This is fresh seafood the way it’s meant to be enjoyed.
The service was friendly, fast, and attentive, rounding out a night that really delivered.
If you’re anywhere near Lakewood Ranch and want a place with a memorable vibe, creative atmosphere, and truly fresh fish done right—Owens Fish Camp is it. Highly recommended.
Loved the oysters (both at backyard bar and Rockefeller on the menu), and the Fish and Chips were excellent—huge portion of fish with tasty Old Bay fries. The Crispy Captain’s Platter was solid too, and service was great.
Our whole party agreed however, the the only downside was that dishes were on the overly salty side, but overall a great experience and we’d definitely return.
frome smoked fish dip . lopster cobb salad.filet lopster. seafood jumbolia red sauce ..and linguine clams was delicious and keylime pie was next level with fresh cream on top .pecan pie pretty tasty also.
they also do brunch on Saturday and Sundays 10 to 2
highly recommended!
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and gave me a detailed explanation of the differences between Scamp and Tilefish. I went with the Scamp at his suggestion and it was 100% on point. The only issue with the food was that the breading on the calamari just fell off when dipping. It was still delicious!
The space is fun, inviting, and we sat by the kitchen so we had fun watching the hard work that goes into these great dishes.
I love the Burns Ct location, but the Lakewood Ranch site is equally worth the trip.
You could tell right away as we showed up at opening…as did many many others, that this was a great place to eat. Was seated quickly, drink order taken quickly and away we went.
Our server Lexi provided all the current specials, including the available market fish for the day.
We started off with a set of appetizers from the happy hour menu that included 1/2 dozen oysters, garlic bread, fish spread and deviled eggs. Everything was great and we would order any again.
We added some cocktails and placed our dinner order with the pork chop, jambalaya, and shrimp and grits. All were excellent and well portioned. We finished with peach cobbler.
Great place and one we will keep on our list of places to revisit.
