What a lovely restaurant with fresh, tasty food and top of the line wait staff! This place stayed busy but it was very easy to visit and enjoy our meal. They also do a lot of take out orders and have great relationships with the customers.

Me and my friend happen to be in the area shopping and running a few errands. We both love Mexican food so we thought why not let’s try the spot at first glance. It looked like it was just tiny and gonna be more like a taco truck style food setting, but it was the exact opposite. It was quite bigger inside than we thought. The view was great. The food was phenomenal. The service was quite friendly prices were very reasonable. Would love to go again soon loved that it was family owned, and that the family was working together.

The food here is really good, the quesabirria tacos woth consume are amazing. I came to Owatonna for a project (im from Wisconsin) and while working me and my colleague wanted some Mexican food, after googling we found this little gem. The first day we went, Rosa, greeted us with a smile and presented the menu very charismatic with tender care, I felt very welcomed and was treated like if she have known me for a long time. Got enchiladas that day. On another day, Juanita received us and just like her mom (this is a family owned restaurant) we were treated with joy and kind hearted hospitality. I did not catch the name of the father, but in two occasions went outside (without a jacket) in the cold to give my colleague’s ear buds, giving us the clarity that, even though it is a small place, the family takes good care of their coustumers. The tacos are good as well, and the fried ice-cream is very delicious if youre craving something sweet. If I come back to Owatonna, I will definitely eat here and I will definitely recommend it to people. Juanita, and her family did a great job satisfying our hunger! P.s. the mango lemonade is my go to drink.

My family and I were just passing through on our way back home to Illinois and needed somewhere open late on a Sunday night. Owatonna Taqueria Jalisco had great reviews, so we took a chance, and it was the best decision of the trip. The vibe is cozy and warm, and even though the space is small, it adds to the charm. I expected we’d be the only ones there, but the place was buzzing.

The food was excellent across the board (special shoutout to the guacamole), but the service is what makes this place a standout. Rosa walked us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm and made us feel like regulars. She even told us we always have a home there whenever we’re passing through.

10/10. Highly recommend.

Oh boy, let me tell you: as a traveler of Mexico & Central America, this is one of a very special few restaurants that actually feels like being in Mexico. The taste is utterly fantastic. Their ceviche rivals the ceviches I had while in Guatemala. I’d say it’s the best I’ve ever had.

Over two days and different visits, I tried their ceviche tostadas, the ceviche platter, the chimichanga with ground beef and their tacos with al pastor and birria. All utterly delectable. Simply a flavor-bomb going off in your mouth. So much going on with spices and the meat that they clearly spent time cooking slowly. I’d go here every day if I lived nearby.

They also have a great selection of drinks and even have Jamaica, which is my favorite thing even if my body gets mad about it

Do yourself a favor if you’re trying to decide. Eat here. You won’t be disappointed.

When you walk in the door you realize you made the best decision of your day. The aroma of Mexican goodness hits hard as you cross the threshold. The vibe is simultaneously vibrant and quaint.

The chips must be made in house,… crispy, crunchy, robust. The salsa game is strong with the house salsa plus three more (hot, medium , mild) made in house. All excellent.

If lady luck is on your side, Rosa will take care of you and give you the low-down on their best dishes. She’s clearly passionate about the food and the region of Mexico the recipies come from.

Drive around the block five times if necessary to get a parking spot, you won’t regret it.

Was eating there and ordered a burrito, while eating i realized that it tasted really familiar to a different place in town. A few days later i went to Plaza Morena and realized that taqueria Jalisco had copied their burritos down to everything. I don’t really appreciate a business copying another small business:/ really put a bad taste in my mouth. After talking to a few employees I figured out that the owners used to work at plaza so it doesn’t seem like an accident that they so happen to taste the same it seems deliberate.
