This is a great diner feel restaurant. Our table was dirty and so were the seats but the food was quick, fresh and hot. Generously portioned reuben with lots of corn beef and delicious swirled bread, a little different than your standard rye. Sweet Potato french fries were crisp and hot.

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We got a cup of chicken and wild rice soup, I got a pulled pork sandwich with fries, and my partner got an Italian chicken sandwich with fries. When the food came to the table both were missing the fries, so the waitress brought back two baskets of waffle fries and left. We both had high hopes for this place as most of the reviews were very positive; however, the food we got was not very good and mostly went uneaten. The soup was not hot, it was lukewarm at best. The bbq was room temperature and did not have much meat, the sauce on the side was cold like it came straight from the refrigerator. The bbq sandwich was mostly two large onion rings. The chicken sandwich was mostly lettuce and tomato.
The service was pretty bad as well. We were mostly ignored, our drinks were left empty and only refilled once after the group of employees saw us looking at them. These employees were too busy eating, talking, laughing and playing on their cell phones to attend to the customers. The location was not busy during this time, there were the two of us, a gentleman sitting at the bar, a couple on the patio. The group of people sitting at the end of the bar shown in the photos were the staff and that was where they remained the entire time we were there. There was no reason for the service to have been this bad and very disappointing. Based on this experience I would not recommend this place.

Cool place! It’s a bit of a retro hip diner vibe. We had the veggie appetizer, which was really good with a lighter almost a tempura like texture, which I really enjoyed. They have mostly sandwiches, wings and salads. I had the Cobb salad with french onion soup. The salad was was crisp and cold and the ranch was homemade and really good. The toppings were fresh although fairly skimpy for a Cobb salad. The french onion soup was the star. It was savory, a touch sweet, a bit tangy, had abundant nicely caramelized onions topped with a nice crusty layer of cheese and crouton. I also tried the mac and cheese and it was creamy and the noodles were perfectly cooked. It has more of a Velveeta style cheese sauce which isn’t my favorite, but I would absolutely eat it again. The service was good and was clean and very reasonablely priced. I look forward to going back to see what else is good.

Went for breakfast/brunch. I was super impressed with how quickly the food came out. However, I think it was bc it was already made. My eggs I ordered over medium, and the egg white was still runny. I’d say they were barely over easy. The sausage patties had no form or shape to them. Flavor was alright on them. The potatoes would have been good if they were hot. Everything on my plate with the exception of the toast, was cold. Eggs were lukewarm, the potatoes and sausage patties were legit cold. I’d say slightly below room temp. Was cooked, but I feel they cooked them prior, then had them in the fridge. Definitely not cooked to order with the temperature of the food and how quickly it came out. Will not return. $20 with tip for the OTC breakfast special with coffee. Should have went to Waffle House

Over the Counter is a great spot for brunch. The atmosphere is lively, the restaurant is clean and the staff is helpful. It is always busy when I come in. Came here on a busy Sunday morning, and I ordered the OTC breakfast with a Bloody Mary. Delicious. I have also had the burger here. Another great choice. It can be difficult to find parking in the main lot if it’s crowded, but there’s plenty other places to park around the restaurant on side streets.
Thanks!

Usually when we go it’s warm weather and sitting outside is great under the yellow umbrellas. Now it’s winter so we are inside. Cozy and kichy with old diner vibe. Sandwiches still excellent

A little spot my sister and I spied while leaving her doc appointment. We spontaneously went inside for lunch! It was seat yourself and wasn’t busy. I ordered pulled pork the day before from somewhere else, but ordered it again here because I was having an obsession. The food was great! I’d definitely love to visit again when I’m on that side of town.

They even have Gluten free options!
Also; if you are not GF they have a ton of draft beers which I am always jealous of:)
