Happening pizzeria with wood-fired pies & top-shelf cocktails in a lively, music-filled space.

*This review is about the airport location.*
The food is not good. Mind you, I know it’s an airport spot. But with PDX’s claim to fame being its local spots only, I really think you gotta step it up. The server/bartender was truly lovely. Friendly, and handled the WHOLE dining room alone. The guy was sunshine. The pizza had flavorless tomato sauce, and the mozzarella cheese was really dry, the burger was… well, let’s say, if you like mustard and dry meat, you got that to look forward to. The fries were okay.
It’s a pretty spot, with AWESOME SERVICE, but the food isn’t good. And frankly, even if I tell the server it wasn’t good, what is he going to do? He’s working all alone and he’s so sweet. Give this man better fare! For $50 bucks, this is just not worth it. Skip and go to Mod Pizza 75 feet away.
Pictures are Tap burger and Margherita pizza.

I have been searching for what Oven and Shaker offers for so long I thought I may never find it. As a food-sensitive person, eating pizza is a challenge, and when you’ve gotten used to never eating it, it becomes a unicorn. I can’t eat garlic and onion so I must always settle for sauceless pies, or pies with olive oil instead. Not so here.
O&S makes their standard pizza sauce with nothing more than good tomatoes, salt and a pinch of basil. And let me tell you that it needs nothing more. I’ve eaten four pies here now – two Margherita, two sausage – and they have been nothing short of stellar. Bright, fresh, acidic, a touch of sweet measured out against the creamy cheese. Homemade sourdough crust is so tasty you can’t help but finish every bite.
Trust me and do your tongue a favor: check out the pie. It’s worth it.

Oven and Shaker’s service and quality is going downhill. I used to love their pizza and ambience. The pizza was charred and we brought it to server’s attention who agreed. They replaced it with another pizza and it was charred as well. Then the server got us someone else’s check at the end. The only good thing about tonight was their roasted beet salad. In a city known for pizzas, there is fierce competition and it’s important to maintain quality of food. We are definitely not coming back.

Highly recommend reservations. The staff were very friendly. We tried the sausage pizza and thought it was amazing! We also tried the butterscotch budino and loved it.

This spot is pretty average at best and way overpriced for what it is. The drink prices are surprisingly higher than what you’d pay at fine dining restaurants or upscale cocktail lounges. Sure, it’s in the same ballpark, but at the end of the day, this is still just a pizza place. Had to go to bar to get our own drinks after waiting forever. Don’t sit outside unless you want to wait decades for drinks.

Very good pizza but I would request less tomato sauce on the margarita next time!:)

We recently had a large team dinner (14 of us) at Oven & Shaker and could not have asked for a better experience. Kendra, the GM, worked some magic to put us in an area that allowed our team to both sit and eat as well as move around and mingle with each other a bit and not impact other customers. (Our team doesn’t have the chance to get together much in real life, so this was really important to us.) And Marissa, our server, was really fantastic. She was very friendly and attentive, checking in regularly and making sure everyone had what they needed the whole times. Food came out hot and paced well – and we ordered tons of it – and everything was great. Most of the team hadn’t been to Oven & Shaker before and left as fans.
Writing this is making me want pizza again. Thanks for great time, Kendra and Marissa! Def recommend!

My fam had a reservation and went right in, with very friendly and sweet staff helping the whole time. We absolutely loved the food with highlights being the burrata plate, radicchio salad, and fennel pizza. Texture and taste was exactly what you would want from a wood-fired pizza. Highly recommend for a relaxed and delicious meal!

We had a private party at Oven & Shaker last week for our company holiday party, and it was a stellar experience! Kendra and Derrick were the managers and they were both so attentive to the details on the night of the party, and every staff member was really great. We had ~40 people at the party and it was the perfect atmosphere to enjoy conversation, food, and drinks. The staff set up a pizza-making area for us where people could roll dough and add toppings and watch the pizza get put into the woodfire oven. It was such a treat, and everyone had a wonderful time. I can’t say enough nice things about this restaurant, the food, and the people working there! I highly recommend this venue for a private party. Thank you, Kendra and Derrick!

This is my favorite pizza restaurant in Portland. I love their Margherita Pizza and their Mushroom Pizza. They also have some innovative daily specials that are worth trying. Their salads and appetizers are great! Too many favorites to list here, lol… Highly recommended!
