The Outta the Way Cafe is going to begin our 37th year in ’26, rooted in our American traditions of community, hospitality and large portions of good food, prepared daily from quality ingredients and served to all at a fair price. This is what we call ‘Real American’ cuisine. While we are known for having the the Best Wings in Montgomery County, the fun doesn’t stop there. Our culture & commitment to our community is the bedrock of everything we do. And did I also mention that Bethesda Magazine awarded us ‘the best live music in Montgomery County’ last year? Wife and I decided to come here and try this place out after the gym on a Sunday, the service was really friendly and attentive, however the place was very dark and gloomy.
As far as the food, it was good but nothing exceptional, the pierogies were the best thing we tried, the so called “best wings in Moco” were a let down, dry and stringy while the grilled chicken sandwich was quite dry but it still tasted good.
Overall the experience was alright but not great or exceptional.

Tony is a wonderful bartender!
We had the BLT with an added fried egg, and the 52nd st Sammie. The onion rings, with a dipping sauce, per Tony’s suggestion, and chili were spot on. Tony made sure we had Old Bay, and an assortment of hot sauces, salt and pepper, which we LOVED!

My boyfriend and I have been coming here for over a year now and it’s the absolute best. Our favorite server James is extremely attentive, quick to anticipate our needs. We also have had the pleasure of being served by his mother who is such a down to earth server. We are regulars at this point and the service is not only amazing but the food is great. The atmosphere is great, they even have a band that plays on Saturdays. I recommend to anyone who is looking for a hole in the wall kinda vibe. Nothing compares.

Overall the service is attentive and friendly. There’s live music which is always really great. Food is good, however, a friendly suggestion to clean the shrimp please. I got the shrimp three ways and many of them weren’t deveined. The place doesn’t deserve low star rating because of it, but just a friendly suggestion. Although not harmful it’s unsightly

My wife and I really enjoyed our meal here. I had the Alfredo pasta option and she had a burger. The outside of the burger was a little too blackened but it was cooked to temperature. The Alfredo was tasty, you could see that a lot of creamer and cheese were used to make the dish. Had the sliced chicken on the dish. Pierogies were a nice appetizer.
Atmosphere was relaxing. Looking forward to coming again.

What a great unexpected stop for our family. The service was excellent. It was a vibe. We went there for lunch before a baseball tournament. The pierogies were delicious. Chip’s wing sauce was the best I have had! The Old Bay wings were crispy and meat was still juicy!

Visit every couple of months to meet friends and get great service at the bar. Happy hour prices are awesome. My only problem with this place is they drag trash bags and all sorts of stuff from the kitchen through the main entrance and it’s wildly frustrating eating and some guy has 2 trash bins full of waste right behind out. They clearly don’t care it’s been happening as long as I can remember. The bar space is already small enough, everyone has to move. Kind of ridiculous and unsanitary at a minimum.
