On a Positive Note: The water view is relaxing.
I started with a half of dozen of raw clams. One was a parent and the other fiver were premature babies. I tried to enjoy but I reluctantly asked for a replacement for two which the server obliged. She never offered to change them. She was too busy socializing with her colleagues – probably about me. Then she proceeded to eat linch in my line of sight. ♀️ This is not the decorum I would expect at a waterfront restaurant.
After we ate our appetizer, we decided to leave and go to Hook and Reel. While, it doesn’t have a water view, the only behavior within my line of site is the bartender making drinks.
The Verdict: The clams were highly disproportionate in size. I do not recommend this establishment based on the unprofessional service. Nonetheless, I left an undeserved tip.
A Daily Diner
But the surprise knockout? The New York Strip. Juicy, tender, and cooked flawlessly—seriously one of the best steaks I’ve had anywhere on the shoreline. Whoever’s on that grill knows exactly what they’re doing.
And don’t even get me started on the cocktails. The Gingerbread Martini is the holiday drink you didn’t know you needed. It’s festive, smooth, and comes garnished with an adorable little gingerbread man floating on top—totally unexpected and totally awesome. It’s impossible not to smile when it arrives at the table.
From the food to the drinks to the vibe, Outriggers nails it. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is the spot you’ll want to keep coming back to.
Also, I got to try the fried mozzarella and it was really fresh and tasty. The chicken milanese was well seasoned but cooked a minute too long. It’s still tasty though.
Atmosphere wise there might have been one to many Nats outside for me but with a restaurant on the shore in the afternoon, it’s expected. They had live music, which was great.
Overall a good experience.
