A sunny afternoon out on the riverside deck. The kitchen cooking up some delicious blackened fish, while Ryan checks in on the patrons and serves a few ice cold Coronas. All with a perfect view of the blackwaters of the the mighty Waccamaw. Pretty much the most relaxing two hours I spent in South Carolina. Just what I was looking gor.

The food was very good. The service was lackluster. We asked the manager if the chicken portion in the Chicken Brushetta was big and she said “yes, it’s a big sized breast.” Looked as if was from a Cornish Game Hen. Tiny, but presented well and flavorful. Chilled peel and eat shrimp, were room temperature at best, but nice size and tasty. Hint to kitchen staff: the appetizers are served before the main course, not with it. Wish our server was more attentive. She spent more time outside then tending to our party of 5 inside.

Great atmosphere! That’s the only real positive thing I can say about our Friday lunch visit.

I’ve been here twice before (former ownership). Had good food both times. This time? Barely mediocre. There were four of us – my chilled shrimp was way overcooked and seemed “old”, my cousin’s fish was flavorless, my aunt’s veg burger was bland, and my uncle’s steamed shrimp was overcooked like mine. Fries were barely warm.

Draft beer was chilled but not cold.

Waitress was obviously new and was having a tough time remembering things. But she was trying and was really nice. Can’t fault her.

Probably won’t go back.

Outriggers is a great restaurant. The view, service, and food are fantastic. They have a nice outdoor section where you can watch the sunset set on the water. The server DJ and the manager were very pleasant and accommodating. I would definitely recommend.

This is my happy place and it will be yours too if you are someone who wants great food, great service, great cocktails and great entertainment in an upscale marina atmosphere. If this restaurant was a song, it would be “Brown Eyed Girl”!

The service takes place on a deck adjacent to the Waccawache Marina. A hundreds year old tree is at the center of the deck and her expanse of branches protects you from sun and rain. Sparkling lights light your way at night as you dine amongst yachts, boats and catamarans.

The menu is an ecclectic mix of elevated gastro pub grub. It’s worth a visit just for the Tuna Poke Nachos with eddamame. The burger is the best in Georgetown & Horry Counties. They even have steamed, whole Maine lobster on occasion.

Eric & Shannon have created a winner here. The staff is remarkable. From the manager Julia to the smiling, courteous runners, every one is there to make you smile. The music and games are fun. Spontaneous dancing on the deck with the person you love is encouraged. Dogs are welcome and treated with love.

Outriggers Bar & Grille is located right off HWY 17 heading south toward Charleston. Make a right across from the Circle K gas station and follow the sign for the Waccawache Marina. Head down to the waters edge and pull into the parking lot. If it’s full, a golf cart will follow you to a nearby spot and drive you back to the restaurant. Don’t let light rain keep you from going, the tree provides protection but they do serve inside as well. $$

We stayed at marina for the night and went to the outriggers for dinner. Very nice selection of food, wife had the lobster special and I had the ribs, both were delicious and a good value. Great service and prices were very reasonable. definitely would recommend Outrigher.

Amazing views, chill atmosphere, and great service! Food was awesome, live music was fantastic, and the drinks were ice cold on a shaded deck surrounded by water. Loved every minute of it, hidden gem for sure!
