Something to try cheesy pesto garlic bread and mozzarella sticks for our next visit.
We’ve tried ordering your pizza 7 times. 5 of those times, your website is not accepting orders. We’ve successfully gotten pizza twice, and both times was when you were still a food truck. We’ve never been able to order it ever since you moved to a brick and mortar location. No reliable hours posted ANYWHERE. We were going to order tonight and instead, we’re going to Pizza Hut because you’re website is not accepting orders. It doesn’t even say anything until you select a pizza to order and only then does it say they’re closed.
If you’re closed to train new employees, say so somewhere so you don’t drive away customers who have their hearts set on pizza (that is delicious when you are actually able to get it), only to have their hopes crushed.
Unfortunately they seem to have recurring problems with their deliveries. We had a small issue with delayed delivery previously, but chalked it up to a one time mistake, but th other night we ordered delivery, scheduled to be delivered between 6:15 and 6:30. At 6:14 I got an email saying the pizza was ready, waiting on the delivery driver. At 6:45 I tried repeatedly to call the restaurant to check on our order and they never picked up, and one time sent me directly to voicemail.
At 6:50, the delivery driver finally messaged me saying it wasn’t ready yet, then updated me saying actually they gave it to the wrong delivery driver. 10 minutes later they messaged me again saying rather than remaking the pizza, because they were out of dough, they were waiting on the other delivery driver to return with our order, so that they could then deliver it to us, which would be more than an hour after it was confirmed done. Not interested in cold pizza that had been passed around to who knows who, I asked the delivery driver to have the restaurant contact me for cancelation, which they never did, nor did they answer the phone when I called. The order was apparently canceled, as it was never delivered, but we were still charged for it.
At no point did the restaurant contact me directly to resolve the issue, despite them having my contact info. Had the delivery driver not contacted us with what was going on, we likely would have been delivered an hour old, cold pizza, with no communication or idea what happened.
I understand that there are growing pains with a new business training staff, and mistakes happen, but reputations are built on how mistakes are handled, and this was certainly not an appropriate way to handle the issue. Nor is it acceptable not having any way for customers to contact you when they have issues other than to walk in the door.
Edit: restaurant said they tried to reach out, I had my phone in my hand the whole time, so not sure exactly how they tried to reach out, or if there was a typo in the number. No emails, texts or calls arrived at my number, except the ones saying the order was placed and ready. Restaurant said they refunded me, I assume that’s true, but I disputed the change as soon as it finalized so I have no way of verifying.
Had to text them to get them to open the doors. It’s now 12 minutes past my pick up time and still no food. It’s freezing on the wait area.
Pizza small for the price. Supper greasy some like this but the crust is good.
I even followed up privately to apologize if my message had offended him, but I never received a response. I was disappointed by how the situation was handled, but I still wish the business success and hope they can manage customer feedback more professionally in the future.
What makes it even better? It’s local. There’s something about supporting a place right in the community that puts so much heart into what they do. You can taste the difference. Every time I go, the food is consistent, the staff is friendly, and the vibe is just what you want from a great hometown pizza spot.
If you haven’t tried Outlaw Pizza yet, you’re seriously missing out. It’s my go-to from now on — nothing else compares!
