If you visit Chama NM eat at Outlaw BBQ. This is a very good BBQ restaurant with a very friendly staff. They have a good variety of tasty BBQ and sides. Everything order was delicious and the portions were prefect to fill up without feeling stuffed. I order the pulled pork sandwich, when I got my plate I thought I was mistakenly given brisket due to the way it was sliced. It was sliced perfect for a sandwich and the house made BBQ sauce is tasty and compliments the meats perfectly. The sides were also great and they have a delicious cobbler for desert. This restaurant is open later than most of the other which is also great. I will definitely eat here every time I’m in Chama and will recommend it to anyone that is staying in the area. If you are visiting Chama or even just driving through stop by for a great meal you won’t regret it. ***TIP*** the restaurant parkinglot entrance, from the highway, is the back of the restaurant so drive around the building to be at the front entrance.

First trip to Chama. This BBQ place has the best and most reasonably priced BBQ I think we’ve had in NM. Service was great. One minor error on sides but the waitress realized the error as she was setting down the food and fixed it without being asked. BBQ was outstanding. Wife had the brisket and it was 100% legit. I had the spare ribs and sausage and both were excellent. Sides were all great. They even have their own beer that a brewery in Durango does for them and it was very good. They had a guy playing music but it was not so loud you couldn’t hold a conversation, which we really appreciate. I see the place is for sale, which is unfortunate. Hopefully a new owner can keep up the good work.

Waited for 45 minutes at 6:30. It was well worth the wait. The best barbecue ribs this side of the Mississippi. The smash burger was huge. The whole family enjoyed a great meal! Definitely would go back.

DELICIOUS barbecued ribs, and much to my pleasure, exquisitely tender n tasty brisket! Fabulous sides of street corn and slaw! If you like lager, their Outlaw Lager brewed especially for them out of a Durango Brewing Company and is the best one I’ve had in quite a long time!

I ordered lean brisket sandwich, waitress said a little extra for lean brisket. My sandwich came with 90% fat. I ask the lady who seamed to be in charge and she said “that is lean” without actually looking at my sandwich. When I finished picking out what meat was there I gave my plate to waitress to show her the pile of fat. Another person (busser) brought my ticket without any explanation. I complained when I paid out and she took off about $5 off the $19.00 fat sandwich. Not going back!

Always love this place for Friday night date nights. Prime rib is a bit pricey but you must realize that it is 20 oz, therefore is a shareable meal so it’s not that bad in that case. You will enjoy getting what you paid for!! Musicians such as Coach Melvin Montano often play in the summertime. Great atmosphere, food, and friends to be had at this place!

We ate here with a large group after a wedding rehearsal. The place was packed and we had to wait about 20 minutes, which wasn’t bad considering the size of our group. The service was just okay. It took a long time for them to get our order and refill drinks but they were very busy. The food was outstanding. I had the two meat plate with brisket and sausage. The meat was fantastic. I will definitely go back and highly recommend this place.

Trucker passing through Chama, Stopped in for a quick bite. The food is phenomenal. Potentially some of the best brisket and ribs I’ve had in a long time. Potato salad is excellent as well. Parking lot circles completely around the building and there is ample space to get a semi truck in/out. The bar area is quiet, staff is helpful and there’s 3 big screens to catch a football game. Will absolutely be coming here again when i pass through.

Came on a slammed night, was greeted with many smiling employees. Placed a to go order and the hostess was very nice, gave us an accurate wait time! Ate in the parking lot, literally steamed up the car. Was so delicious got a mix of everything! Will recommend adding more napkins, but we did not mind licking our fingers. Great food for a small town!
