My wife & I ate lunch today, 2-23-2026 at the Billings, MT location. We frequently eat at this location but have always done carryout. Food is good, and as expected so today we decided to dine in. Outback was not busy, maybe 20 people inside. It appeared to be staffed adequately and we were waited on by a female bartender. The service was poor, slow, and lack of attention to basic customer service. She took our order promptly, another waiter brought our salads. She asked is everything ok walking by & we replied fine. The meal was served after a lengthy wait only Chicken on the Barbie. As the bartender served our lunch she was in motion the whole time without stopping as she presented meal. No normal bread was served, and someone from the kitchen walked by and we asked about it & he was kind enough to bring out within 20 seconds. Bartender was more attentive to her phone than her customers, and the bar had no customers. Very dissatisfied will no longer dine in and stick to curbside orders.

Hii I was just in with my significant other around 7:50-8:30pm tonight and I just wanted to share a few words about the service. I am a long time outback lover I’ve been coming here for as long as I can remember, to say I’m disappointed is an actual understatement. In the beginning we were greeted very politely and seated right away which no complaint at all there! Our waitress was a bit rude at first, trying to decide how she thinks WE should order our food. Also not to mention the conversation we could hear all of your staff members having in the take out order section! Very un professional if you guys are going to be talking about customers do it in your bosses offices! It was very distasteful and that wasn’t even the topping on the cake. The most annoying thing out of the whole situation was we had come there to have a nice peaceful night at one of our favorite places and we couldn’t even have that because the blonde girl who seated us kept walking by and looking at us every time she had walked by. It got to a point where I had to grab my phone and RECORD from the side of the table of how much she kept staring at us and how much she kept walking by. I would love to send you proof and the whole video I took including our rude waitress carelessly tossing our bill. I’m sure if we were of different color the business would have been more professional. I added a screenshot from the video of one of the times she looked at us. There’s more clips in the video I had taken.

Tonight, my boyfriend, his mom, and I decided to go to Outback for dinner. His mom has been here before and liked the food while my boyfriend and I have never been. We figured we’d give it a try since we were all available. I first want to say that the guy who sat us was great. He was quick and attentive. However, that’s where the good parts kind of end. It took 5 minutes for our server to even greet us then we saw her maybe 3 more times the rest of the night. She took our drink order and brought us bread. The drinks did take a little long, but I understand that the bartender’s can get busy back there. Our drinks got dropped off and she basically disappeared. We weren’t given any idea on how much longer our food would take and I sat with an empty drink for at least 20 minutes. She would walk by our table and not even look at us, so she never offered a refill despite my drink being empty. When she finally did notice, I could tell she wasn’t that interested. After about 45 minutes to an hour, we get our food. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and shrimp pasta. He asked for no shrimp, extra chicken. The chicken tasted funky, like it was going bad, when we got it and there was barely any sauce. It looked dry, as if it sat under a heat lamp for 10 minutes before going out. My steak and my boyfriend’s mom’s steak were both overcooked. We asked for medium well (their guide in the menu shows plenty of pink), but they both came out grey. They were also so peppered that it made our tongues burn. The whole time, while we struggle to eat our food, she’s attending to a table of 6 nearby and constantly asking if they wanted refills, more bread, etc. I work as a server and her service tonight was appalling. From 4:45pm (when we arrived) until we left at 7:00pm, she only checked on us 4 times and rudely asked if we wanted boxes. She didn’t ask why we couldn’t eat over half of our plates. I don’t know if she expected us to not tip well and that’s why we got shoddy service while her other two tables were actively getting waited on or what. We tipped her more than either of us wanted to for the level of service we got because all three of us work in restaurants (a host, a cook, and server). None of us will be back to Outback Steakhouse and we now see why this place has gone downhill.

The waitress was high!! I’m talking HIGH as a kite. She kept forgetting our order. Forgetting our bread (hard bread, not even warm) She gave us a bill with someone else’s order on it, forgot our drinks. Sent a manager over when my Friend became annoyed with the service. I can’t believe the terrible service we were given. Our 2 specialty drinks were $25.00 & we paid about $75 for our meal. We couldn’t help but keep looking at the service & at each other like WOW! Really. Start by drug testing your employees.

Enjoyed having lunch here. Party of 12 was nicely accommodated. Used the lunch menu which had a good number of items to choose from. Choices varied widely. Burgers were popular and well received. Our sever was helpful and communicated well. Bit of a wait but this isn’t a fast food restaurant!

We went on a busy Friday night. Liz, Our waitress was super efficient and friendly. She was knowledgeable about the menu and what was gluten free. The food was amazing. Hot and perfectly cooked. They even had a GF dessert! Will be back!

Our party of 6 showed up at noon today. We were sat immediately even though our party did not all arrive at the same time. Our server was Mason. He didn’t introduce himself. That is my one and only negative (and very minor) thing!! Mason took our drink orders and came back with them in a very reasonable amount of time. Very polite, I might add! We asked for 3 separate tickets (3 couples). One couple ordered a blooming onion. It also came out in a very reasonable amount of time. He asked if he could take our order but we (I) weren’t quite ready. Mason came back about 4 or 5 minutes later and took our order. Very polite. Asked about sides and went away. By this time the restaurant was getting pretty busy. Our meals took a little longer than usual, but they were getting busier too. I get it. No problem. The meals came back in what I believe was a respectable amount of time. We never had to ask for dink refills because they just magically appeared. Mason brought to go boxes for a couple of us and our tickets. The tickets were broken down perfectly for each couple. Mason did a terrific job for us today! The reviews for this location have been all over the place the past couple of months, so I was worried. Mason changed that worry into an amazing experience for all 6 of us. Thanks so much for a great day, Mason. Hope your day went as well for you!

I took my brother here for lunch. He went on and on about how good the steak was. We shared a blooming onion which was tasty. Our server was great. He was friendly and attentive. I had shrimp on the barbie and it was well cooked. I had a margarita and it was well balanced. I come here every time I come to Billings.

Staff was friendly. Food was mid. Took FOREVER to get food out. That’s the longest we have waited in a long time. 15 mins+ to be waited on, 25+ mins to recieve our app & salads. 35-40+ mins to recieve mains. Food had very minimal flavor. Haven’t been here in years & I can remember why. People behind us got tired of waiting & asked for their ticket after their app & for food to go. Probably won’t be back. Even though it’s a sit down, should not take that long to get food. Don’t go here if you’re in a hurry.
