It’s been over 20 years since I’ve been into an Outback. The last time I was there I ordered my steak medium. What the waiter brought was blue rare at best. When I said I had ordered it medium he told me it was medium, it just looked rare under the lighting. I told him take it back and cook it some more until it didn’t look like a crime scene under the lights.
I’ve had a few of their signature blooming onions when ordering from a work function for take out when that was the group’s selection. Usually, it’s not as pretty as the advertised photo but similar. Not here, it was an extra dark, greasy mess. The waitress offered to have it recooked. I think it was beyond help. To avoid the blood bath steak, I ordered a half slab ribs. Meh, we’ll it’s not a bbq joint. Wedge salad was fine but how could you possibly screw that up. The place was not busy but for some reason a table of 12 managed to get their meals first even though we ordered first. The waitress said she noticed ours was taking a little long and asked about it. She did offer us a free dessert but we generally don’t eat dessert. Two people and the bill was $75. Tea $4?! Aren’t we in the south? Nope, you can keep the corporate restaurant.

Our little Outback here in Palm Coast is wonderful. This time we did curbside and chose the sirloin family meal with Caesar salad, mashies and broccoli. We also added a fully dressed baked potato because they’re always amazing. The sweet girl who brought out our order said she double checked everything, made sure there was A-1, extra dressing and we had enough utensils/napkins Obviously, her job entails this but she just made the whole experience so much better by being helpful and kind. The food was incredible. Our steaks were PERFECTLY cooked and even with a 12 minute car ride home were juicy and tender. The Caesar salad is always great, mashies too. The broccoli OMG YUM was perfectly seasoned and TRUE tender crisp, (not mushy or so hard they feel uncooked) PERFECT! It was about $75 for four people to have a lovely steak dinner and for this mom not to have to cook on a Friday night was wonderful. We’ve lived in PC now for almost 15 years and have been going to our Outback as long, another great experience. I meant to take pictures for review purposes but didn’t get the chance as the family barely let me get it to the table

We don’t eat at a lot of chains because the quality of the food and the general experience are pretty weak usually… but we saw an ad in a flyer and got a craving for a bloomin onion… so off we went.

When we arrived, we saw that there was outdoor seating… the view was of the parking lot but it was warm out so it seemed preferable to a typical over-ACed dining room… we were right. We had about a 10 minute wait – which was fine – and we got cold sitting inside during that time. Then the host told us to go to the outside and find the table with 2 menus on it (a little odd?).

Our waitress seemed very nice at first – a pleasant surprise given some recent experiences – and helpful explaining things about the menu, entering our free bloomin onion for joining the rewards program… but that’s where the service ended.

My cocktail came out first and it was like drinking blue koolaid. Not the server’s fault, but just another issue. When the server brought my wife’s soup – 15 minutes after we’d been seated – she asked if we wanted bread. We said that we did, but it never arrived. Approx 30 minutes later we had to ask where the bloomin onion was when we caught the server…. She blamed it on a backed up kitchen, but it seemed clear to us she forgot… it was a pattern. When the bloomin onion finally came, our server offered plates and said she’d be right back… once again, plates never came.

Finally, our entrees were actually pretty good… but they were bit medium rare as ordered. Definitely closer to medium – and they even have pictures to show what their definitions are, so it’s not a subjective kind of thing.

Also, the bread never came so we started catching any other server we could (since ours rarely showed up again)… we saw people just seated getting bread… multiple times. We had to ask about that and wondered if one was for us… It was all just a fiasco.

We were looking up air fryer bloomin’ onion recipes – we probably won’t be back.

We had a great experience at Outback. The serving was professional and pleasant. We place our order on line and picked it up at the restaurant. The gentleman met us at our car to let us know the order was received and is being prepared and that he would be bringing it out to us as soon as it is ready. He was so nice. We truly appreciated his service.

Remodel is a very welcomed improvement. Service was very good Catherine did a great job and is very familiar with the menus and identifying a her served food. Slight mistake between kitchen and my order, but it was a good error in the end.

My wife and I went for dinner on Veterans day yesterday. We were told it may be up to an hour wait, which we said we would wait. We noticed several people come in after us to request a table and were told the same thing, but were seated before us. Only 2 in their party also. After a while we were asked our name again and were sat 10 minutes later. After being seated, we were initially greeted by our server, Wendy, and told us she’d be right with us. 15 minutes later she is headed our way, but is stopped by a customer who was seated after us, but wanted bread. She then proceeded to go back in the kitchen to get them some. 5 minutes she finally gets our drink order. We ordered our food now at this time also. My wife ordered french onion soup which took a long time to come out, and was barely cooked. We never were offered refills on our drinks until we were done and ready to go. Overall it was not a good experience.

Such a nice, sweet and thoughtful waitress at the Palm Coast restaurant. She was awesome as I watched her help a guy who wasn’t sure how to order. Outstanding job! Wish I knew her name. Food and drinks were good too but she really stood out! It didn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated!
