About 18 minutes later, my food was delivered by a runner rather than my server. Visually, the steak and broccoli looked good. The broccoli was not overcooked at all—it was actually cooked perfectly.
My server stopped by briefly a moment or two after the food arrived and asked how everything was. At that point, I had only cut a small corner of the steak near the fat and marbling and said it was good. I did notice right away that the steak was heavily seasoned. I ran my knife across the surface and scraped off a noticeable pile of excess seasoning—next time I would definitely ask for it lightly seasoned.
As I continued eating, it became clear the steak was significantly overcooked for a medium order. The interior was barely pink and mostly gray. While the steak wasn’t tough, it would have been much better with more red in the middle, as ordered.
Unfortunately, after that brief check-in, I never saw my server again. My tea glass ran empty before my steak was finished and was never refilled. I didn’t eat the bread since I’m low-carb, but I planned to take it to go for a coworker who had asked for it—however, with no server returning to the table, that wasn’t possible.
With the tabletop payment device, it feels far too easy for service to simply disappear. I eventually paid my bill on the device and left, which raises a concern that management may want to rethink the payment system or retrain staff at this location.
On the positive side, the restaurant itself was clean, as was the parking lot. One staff member (other than my server and the runner) made eye contact and smiled while passing by, which stood out—most others actively avoided eye contact. As I exited, I was at least acknowledged with a polite “have a good night, sir” by a hostess, which was appreciated.
Overall, the steak wasn’t bad and wasn’t tough, but it was overcooked and overseasoned, and the lack of follow-up service significantly impacted the experience.
Food: bread was good with whipped butter. Blooming onion, only good thing was it was cored correctly. Steaks, not evenly cooked and not how we ordered them.
Drinks: I will be honest I don’t drink often and couldnt on this occasion. However the kiwi strawberry lemonade was quite nice.
Service: the servers did their best and are the only innocents in this scenario. The poor guy who brought us our steaks swapped mine and my partners steaks and unfortunately I tucked into my mashed potatoes before I could realise I had the wrong steak, leaving me with a third of a filet. 🙁 I cant blame him as we had the same sides and im pretty sure they handed him the tray and just pointed at our table. Our original waitress was lovely and added extra strawberry to my drink.
TLDR: food sucks and is horrifically overpriced, but the staff are nice.
