I arrived at 4:04pm on a Tuesday with my family. The parking lot is really small and I was lucky to get one spot. Inside, there was a line. A staff told us that wait time came reach to 50 mins due to walk ins and online orders and all food is cooked to order with 2 chefs. I chose to stay because I already knew what I wanted and didn’t want to spent time trying to find another restaurant in the area, especially with 2 kids.
There is a small seating area. When we got to host stand to order, I was told that Grits and waffle cut off at 4pm daily… this upset me because I had looked at menu prior to coming and that’s what I really wanted. Im visiting from out of state, so it’s not easy to come back.
I ordered at 4:17pm. We were seated after ordering. The process is interesting. Around 4:23pm, I saw another table get chicken and waffles and it just irritated me because that’s what I wanted. Plus, I was very VERY hungry at this time. The menu really should indicate time cut off for food. Also, pasta doesn’t get sold until 2pm.
Kids shrimp came at 4:56 and kids chicken came a couple minutes later. Kids meal come with caprisun. Seafood platter (my meal) came at 5pm. The staff was friendly and the food was enjoyable, nonetheless. Service could’ve been better. I would return for the food.

So first, i have to mention that I am
not from here. My boyfriend and I took a small toad trip back in May 2025 and ate from this restaurant and had to come back for his birthday to have what he regards as his “favorite burger.” The SITW burger is a 10/10 absolute recommend! We’ve had it every time we’ve eaten from here and it is never a miss. We’ve also had the Crab Cale Lobster & Shrimp BLT, which I rate a 7/10 solely because of that Burger. The Berkley Big Boy would rate a 9/10. It’s very flavorful and i really enjoy the special sauce, but I don’t expect fish bones when eating a sandwich, so that was a little disappointing, though they were only in the first few bites. We’ve also tried the Loaded Seafood Pasta, which we were a little nervous about because he doesn’t do spicy, but there was no spice and very delicious. Also a 10/10!
This restaurant has proven to be consistent with quality and flavor, so we will definitely be returning to eat here again.
I didn’t rate Service or Atmosphere because I am aware that locations have changed since my last visit, and the ambiance of the previous location on Ocean View was much better, and the service was much better. In May, the young lady that assisted us was pleasant, explained the menu well and offered recommendations when we were unsure what to order. We also took some photos in the dining hall because it was so pretty. We did not get the same experience with this visit. I was almost cold. The young lady at the register never smiled, wasn’t open to questions, and when I did ask, pointed me to the menu never looking up from her phone. I made my next order the following day through doordash because I really dislike poor service and didn’t want to hold this encounter towards the entire restaurant. The dining room was also not open, so no photos this trip, but was wasn’t as pretty as the other location.
Regardless, the food is always a hit, and we will still be returning for more. Definitely try the SITW Burger or the Pasta!

Where do I start from the moment my Wife and I walked into the door we felt the warmth and excitement of the staff. The establishment was clean even with remodeling going on. The food was beyond amazing it was fresh hot and tasty. My Wife ordered the appetizer of salmon strips so good we forgot to take a picture. We also ordered this delicious goodness called the Vick Pick. Which was a Salmon and Shrimp cheesesteak, honey hot wings and my favorite type of fries crispy seasoned and fresh. This place is a gem and the conversation my Wife and the owner had shows the love and the passion that they have in their customer service and the food. Many blessings and much success to you all.

I cannot say enough good things about this place! My husband and I went for the first time last night and it exceeded our expectations. The food came out piping hot. The shrimp I got were huge and fried to perfection. The fish was well seasoned and crispy. The fries were hot and well seasoned, as well. The portions were excellent. It was absolutely delicious. The yams were some of the best that I’ve ever tasted. The cans of soda were ice cold.
The customer service was excellent. They were friendly and answered our questions. The food was a little bit of a wait, but that is because it was made to order and fresh. Totally worth the wait. They also had great music playing to make the atmosphere warm and inviting.
I don’t usually even leave reviews, but I was so impressed that I just had to leave one.

We had a great experience at Our People’s Soulful Seafood!! My husband and son both got the Shoop Park Seafood Platter. I’m not a seafood person, so I went with the Barraud Blackened Chicken Sandwich and onion rings. We also got our 2 year old a chicken chunks and fries kids meal that came with a capri-sun. It took a while for the food but that was fine. They have a sign saying that everything is prepared fresh so it’s not fast food. When we got seated and received our food, it was hot and smelled delicious. My husband took a bite and looked like he was going to shimmy. They seasoned and salted the seafood just right. I tried the fish and like I mentioned earlier I don’t enjoy seafood but that fish was bomb!! My sandwich was also bursting with different flavors that worked so well together! I do recommend calling ahead as they do run out of certain food items due to them being so in demand. We were lucky enough to come at the right time to get what we ordered. We will definitely be back next time we are staying in/near Norfolk.

I ordered the chicken cheesesteak tonight, and ol bay fries. The cheesesteak was ridiculously delicious. FIRE. It was made with fresh veggies, meat, cheeses, and the bread complemented perfectly. Fries were good and hot, and very fresh tasting. The best. Customer service was great. Environment friendly. Very glad that they moved back to their original location. I’m not from around here, but I needed a place to eat good local seafood. Stumbled across this place, and I’m so glad I did. The food is delectable. I’ve never had a tastier or more hearty po’boy in my life. It was massive. If I had eaten anything earlier in the day, I wouldn’t have been able to finish it. And the fried okra was awesome. Family owned and operated. The wife/mother was as sweet as can be. I’m definitely coming back next time I’m in town.

We were lucky enough to try this place as we were packed up and leaving Norfolk. The food was fantastic! We each had Po’boys and fries. My wife had shrimp and I did fish and shrimp. These were the best we have ever had. You can tell they bring in fresh, high quality fish and shrimp and bread it themselves. They make the food fresh to order so kick back for 20 minutes and then enjoy some of the best food you’ll ever have. It breaks my heart that we live 12 hours away!
