Chef Eugenia Hobson and her team prepare authentic Greek dishes served attentively in a breezy Aegean-inspired atmosphere. Our signature dishes include the grilled octopus, the kolokithokeftedes (stuffed zucchini fritters), the lavraki (branzino) filleted table side, and the arni giouvetsi (lamb shank with orzo). Our selection of nine desserts are all made fresh daily in-house and feature Greek classics such as the baklava and the galaktoboureko. There is a full bar, along with wine and beer from Greece. Outdoor tables are available in the summer months. Our kitchen closes at 10PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and at 9PM the rest of the week. We are located steps away from Bloomies and Barnes & Noble in the Mosaic District.
Traditional Greek dishes & wine plated in cheerful, informal surrounds with outdoor seating.

Reviews
The Dolmades—served here with a beef filling—stand out as an improvement over the more common vegetarian version. The beef adds welcome richness and depth, balancing the acidity of the grape leaves and giving the classic appetizer a heartier, more satisfying profile. They are simple, but thoughtfully executed.
The Grilled Octopus arrives with a pleasantly charred exterior and an aromatic hint of smoke. Its seasoning is well-judged, and the flavor is clean and appealing. Texturally, however, it leans slightly too soft—an almost mushy tenderness that stops just short of ideal. Still, it remains an above-average rendition that many seafood lovers will appreciate.
The undisputed star of the evening is the Paidakia (Lamb Chops). Expertly grilled, beautifully seasoned, and remarkably tender, these chops showcase the kitchen at its best. Juicy and aromatic, they are the type of dish that anchors a menu and deserves to be called a must-order.
For a comforting finale, the Pastitsio offers a Greek interpretation that diverges from the Italian lasagna it may remind some diners of. Its béchamel layer is smooth, the pasta neatly assembled, and the meat sauce flavorful, though subtly so. The result is a dish that doesn’t overwhelm the palate but provides gentle, satisfying warmth—something you enjoy bite after bite without fatigue.
Overall, Our Mom Eugenia delivers a pleasantly above-average dining experience marked by honest flavors and standout lamb chops. While not flawless, it is a restaurant that rewards those who appreciate Greek comfort food elevated with care.
The seating is very tight and quite loud, but worthwhile for the great food.
They felt the need to correct me. So I’ll correct them.
The moussaka was cold. I never said that your restaurant uses a microwave. I stated that because the dish was quickly RE-served, I knew it would still be cold. And it was.
If what you state is true that servers are never assigned to both dining rooms. I can’t help but wonder why my server was never in the dining room where I was seated? And he seated me there!
In fact, there were 2 or 3 other tables in my dining room. Their servers were always available because they remained in the dining room where they had patrons. My server did not and could never be found.
If I ever felt the need to offer your establishment a second try that feeling has expired. However, your restaurant has excellent reviews and mine won’t influence your high rating.
I just had the bad luck to have a server lacking in common sense, poorly trained kitchen employees who do not know when one of their most popular dishes is at the correct temperature to be served, and a 2 months’ late snarky reply by mgmt to my honest review.
January 2026:
Atmosphere is lovely and inviting.
The avgolemono was incredibly delicious. However the temperature was just barely warm. The same issue with the moussaka – it was only slightly warm.
I notified my server’s assistant because he (my server) was rarely in the room where I’d been seated (by him). When I observed, that within 5 minutes, it was being served to me for a second time. I just knew that unless it had been microwaved (which would be very wrong) – it wasn’t going to be hot. And it wasn’t. It was just slightly warm.
I did not wish to complain about the coldness of the dish a second time – so I did not. It was frustrating because a restaurant should know not only how to prepare their pre-made dishes, like moussaka. They should also know how to reheat to the proper temperature. The patron should not be forced to correct the kitchen once, let alone twice.
I do not know if there are new kitchen staff, or an issue with the oven, but for my first visit it was disappointing. Especially since I had heard such positive reviews.
Also, maybe the server’s sections should be confined to 1 dining room, not both? I say this because I could never find him. And when he did tend to my table, he would leave within seconds while I was in the midst of speaking to him. It was strange and unwelcoming to say the least.
Kind of a waste of $50. I do not know if I will try again.

Cocktails were delicious, everyone enjoyed their drinks, especially the different martinis! For dessert, we tried the Loukoumades with Honey and birthday girl got a complimentary slice of the Portokalopita with a candle—the orange sponge cake was pretty tasty, super sweet since it’s drenched in syrup.
The apple martini was good. The apple cake was delicious for dessert. We will be back to try the many other menu options that looks really appealing
