When we complained to the manager, she said, “It is what it is,” and did not even offer a refund. We couldn’t eat the pudding and had to order something else instead.
The quality of both the food and the service was disappointing, and I will not be going there again.
If the manager is reading this, it’s too late to offer a refund now — that should have been done at the time.
Belgian Waffle was top notch with fresh blueberries and strawberries and house made whipped cream. Cookies and apple turnover were excellent. 10/10. Definitely will be back.
Very disappointed with both the quality and the way our concern was handled. When customers don’t feel valued, there’s no reason to come back. We won’t be returning.
I placed an order a couple weeks ago for a 6” filled pound cake for a birthday. It was a strawberry pound cake filled with strawberry preserves, and had American buttercream icing. They ask if you would like anything written on the cake and in what color, so I had “Happy Birthday” written (btw the candles in the picture were purchased at Kroger; however, they do sell birthday candles at the register). Delicious cake. I usually like chocolate/not a fan of fruity cakes, but the flavor was surprisingly good – not too sweet, not artificial-tasting. I’d order another pound cake from them again. You do have to eat it within a few days though, otherwise the cake will become hard. In the past, I’ve also ordered specialty cakes off of their menu – all have been delicious.
My partner and I also often come here for Saturday or Sunday brunch, once in a blue moon for dinner. Delicious brunch food and drink options, and dinner is very nice – the dinner menu is small with the selection and atmosphere feeling like fine dining. Everything I’ve ordered from their dinner menu so far has been delicious, especially the lamb. Highly recommend dinners for special occasions.
It gets busy for brunch and it can be hard to find a table indoors, so either come early before they open, or wait an hour or so so that the first wave of guests are finished eating.
Their baked good in the case are also always fresh and delicious. I often get the ham & cheese croissant, chocolate croissant, and sugar cookies. They often have seasonal goods, and sometimes free samples.
Got some brunch there, it was fresh and very tasteful.
The coffee was on point as well.
Then took home few items from the bakery and that was not a let down either.
Friendly and helpful staff, clean place, and good food.
Highly recommend.
We were with another couple who had been to Daily Bread before. The restaurant had recently added dinner service, gradually moving from once per week to several times per week for dinner. We entered this strip mall restaurant with no expectations.
From the start, we were nicely greeted and directed to our table.
The menu is not extensive, but we’ve learned that the best dining experiences don’t need 100 menu items. Please look at the two photos. You’ll see that presentation is excellent.
So, the food…. Outstanding. Excellently seasoned, no overstated sauces or spices, and cooked perfectly. The salmon looks to be oozing with sweet sauce, but that is not the case at all. The chef knew how to add the glistening topping without overpowering the salmon. The vegetables were also delicious and perfectly cooked and seasoned.
The blackened scallops were amazing. They were seared perfectly and were moist and soft, not chewy or dry as overcooked seafood gets. We highly recommend both dishes.
Since the menu changes weekly, we can look forward to our next visit to Our Daily Bread when we venture to Blacksburg, at this time not knowing what we will see on the menu.
The only downsides to our evening were the clatter of kitchen noise and the closeness of tables to each other. We sat on the bench looking into the entire dining area, just 18” – it seemed – from the tables on either side of us.
This is a restaurant that tops all others, food wise, we have visited in Blacksburg. Service was superb.
We arrive just as the dinner service started and got seated. The menu was not what I was expecting, it was gourmet with some great options. Had I read reviews about this place first I would have known it was fantastic. The meal did not disappoint!
We got our food and it was delicious! The lamb was cooked to perfection and so was the steak my son had ordered. We got some fresh baked goods from the display case for dessert.
If you’re in town stop by this place!
